I remember his great performance in super bowl XXXIV,he broke about 6 tackles to gain a first down on the final drive when the titans came within one yard of the tying touchdown.The titans organization should be ashamed of how they treated Mcnair,"locking him out" of their practice facility over the renewal of his contract,and forcing him to go to the ravens after he sold out completely for them.The guy played hard and played hurt the entire time he was here.It would be great if he could come back in some kind of coaching role to mentor Vince Young.

The question, as with all of these players recently, is "is he H.O.F. worthy?"

I say no.  McNair was a good, nay...great player in his day.  But he was never dominant to the level that I expect from Hall of Famers.

I still can't figure out what the hell his touchdown celebration was supposed to be.......

McNair was definitely a football player. I don't think HOF material though, but if Dyson (was that who it was) hadn't come up a yard short in the SB I bet McNair would be in.

I don't think his HOF chances come down to winning or losing the Superbowl.  He was good, but not great.  A ring doesn't change that.

I agree a SB ring alone wouldn't change the fact. Your tatement is too simple though. If I remember correctly McNair led his team down the field with less than two minutes in order to have the chance at the end and he looked very impressive doing it. I think that drive may have gotten him the MVP as well had they won which may have sealed his fate from that good player to the great player status in some voters minds.

Well then I guess he has Mike Jones to blame for him not getting into the HOF then?  :D

McNair almost won the Heisman at Alcorn State because of his ability to throw the ball. By the time he got to the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, Jeff Fisher wanted a quarterback that could run a ball-controlled offense so McNair didn't throw that much and if he did, it was usually to Frank Wycheck.

McNair probably would have made it in if he had played in the late 60's and early 70's. He was a throwback to the leather helmet days of quarterbacking.

Will the Ravens now try to trade up from the #8 spot to get Matt Ryan?

One thing I liked about McNair was he conducted himself with class in all areas of his life, not just in football.

that DUI was nothing more than nashville's finest following him around.they could give EVERYBODY a DUI downtown at that time of night,but this cop just "happened" to be in the club where Mcnair was seen having a couple of drinks with friends,then just "happened" to allegedly see his black navigator swerve as it was leaving a parking lot.the cop was probably pissed off or just looking to make a name for himself.several eyewitnesses at the bar stated that Mcnair had only had two drinks.
