Title: There have been some really great threads lately... Post by: SCFinFan on April 18, 2008, 03:01:50 pm The quality of the discourse on this board has always impressed me. Lately there have been some mind-bogglingly good threads. Some bad apples too, but that's fine.
Anyway, let's start another good thread. Why do y'all think that the discussion on this site is so good (if you think that)? I look forward to your responses. No offense to those of you who start the topics, or to you, SC, for thinking they're good, but I thought Dave's "My car got broken into" thread was cool and the "who wants to be a father" thread was mildly entertaining for a minute.

If all of you were complete strangers, you'd probably have a lot more flaming and close-mindedness. As is, it seems that people are actually discussing. I think this stems from knowing that you're part of a community.

I feel this helps a lot of us identify with the player, as anyone who can have these problems has to be real, and not so much larger-than-life. I'm not so big on the religious topics... I've tried to get more involved in them, but tend to just get aggravated and walk away. Pop culture threads...I can take 'em or leave 'em. I don't do Idol, so can't get into those threads too much. The Jericho thread died the same unnoticed death as the show itself did... Overall, I agree...there are some good discussions on these boards. It's why I keep coming back.
