Title: CNN HEADLINE NEWS Post by: landlocked on April 21, 2008, 01:11:41 pm This is a pet peeve of mine, but does it seem like Headline News is turning into E! or "Entertainment Tonight"?As someone who has always worked odd hours i've always counted on the fact that, any time, night or day,i could just flip on headline news and see whats going on in the world. Now,everytime i want news i get....Britney Spears,Paris Hilton,Tom Cruise,American Idol........stuff i could care less about! And Fox is always airing their pre recorded stuff(Glenn Beck,Greta Van Susstern, etc.)
The Weather Channel is no better,I don't care "What kind of disaster Could Happen Tomorrow!"I just want to know whether or not its gonna rain.geesh! Title: Re: CNN HEADLINE NEWS Post by: StL FinFan on April 21, 2008, 01:13:22 pm I agree with you about HLN. It has become more about Hollywood than about real news. They just don't get that most of us don't give a fuck what Britney Spears is doing.
Title: Re: CNN HEADLINE NEWS Post by: Dave Gray on April 21, 2008, 01:17:46 pm I watch the 4 cable news channels regularly -- they all have about 10 commercials in a hour span, so I have to flip. CNN, Headline News, MSNBC, and FOX News.
Headline News blows. You're right, landlocked. It's like celebrity gossip or these non-news stories over and over again. And Nancy Grace is the worst. It's sensationalist crap Title: Re: CNN HEADLINE NEWS Post by: bsfins on April 21, 2008, 03:21:16 pm I have to agree on the weather channel,It frustrates the hell out of me when I turn to the weather channel ,and they're running how the Weather changed history,or Storm stories...I turn to the weather channel to get the weather...I'll watch the history channel for history thank you....
The news channels,I half expect them to run pop culture stories,I mean they needs something not all bad news to fill some of the hour...How depressing would an hour of nothing but bad news be? Title: Re: CNN HEADLINE NEWS Post by: Phishfan on April 21, 2008, 06:03:07 pm I use to love Headline News 15 years ago but never watch it now. Maybe that was part of the reasoning? We have a channel here in Central Florida that is nothing but local & state news 24 hours a day. They give the weather every ten minutes.
