Title: Maine has finally gone flat screen Post by: MaineDolFan on April 22, 2008, 11:17:59 am I think that most of you know this about me: I spent most of my time at the games versus following them on TV. Sure I would watch games on TV from time to time but, generally, I was on the road doing SOMETHING.
I made my career change and haven't been to one sporting event since. What a blessing! I can't even begin to explain how great it is to know that I am sleeping in MY bed every night. I get to see my wife and daughter every day. I am so at peace with this it's not even funny. Well, at peace until I started watching a lot of games on my little RCA 31 inch TV that is literally 8 years old. When you're used to being at games this wasn't cutting it. I did some research and, finally, broke down last night. I am the proud owner of a 42" LCD. I watched my first game (Bruins / Habs, game 7) last night in HD. Holy shit. I didn't know what I was missing. The next step is having the system installed in the wall at Castle Maine. I am also going to upgrade my home theater system. The one I have now is older. It works but it's like those old boom boxes that were so big you couldn't fit it in your car. Why lug that around when you can get big sound out of little sources? HD, baby. I don't think I'll ever darken Fenway's door again! Title: Re: Maine has finally gone flat screen Post by: Brian Fein on April 22, 2008, 11:22:47 am welcome to the 90's, Maine. Imagine if you had gone with the 60"....
Title: Re: Maine has finally gone flat screen Post by: MaineDolFan on April 22, 2008, 11:25:11 am Believe it or not - the way that my living room is set up, 42" is a almost too big. I have a buddy that is in "the bizz" and he came and did an eval for me, told me to stick to the 40-42" range.

I have a buddy that is in "the bizz" and he came and did an eval for me, told me to stick to the 40-42" range. its true - there's some guideline that says that depending on the distance from sofa to tv, your tv can be "too big"as if there is such a thing as too big... ::) I'm waiting for someone to invent surround-vision. whjere you put three TV's side by side and have wraparound sporting events in HD. It's hard to go back to standard def, and non-HD programming sticks out. I bet you're still in the phase where you're queuing up the regular and HD ESPNs and flipping back and forth. Am I right? Title: Re: Maine has finally gone flat screen Post by: TonyB0D on April 22, 2008, 03:35:25 pm TTIWWOP!!!
