You don't watch much college football, do ya? ;) Merling will be a quality DE, but think he's gonna need to get much faster if he wants to be an effective edge rusher. Then again, the DE in the 3-4 is used more to lock down the ends of the O-line so the linebackers can let the wild rumpus begin than as actual pass rushers, so maybe speed isn't as big a concern as I make it out to be. Knock one Griese all you want, but he started for several seasons and even went to the Pro Bowl. Hopefully he'll be the one to end the Marino curse (or Beck but I don't see that happening).
