Title: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: jtex316 on May 04, 2008, 01:59:33 pm http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3380764&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
This shows me two things: 1. The Chicago Bears coaches and GM are stupids (one for Rex Grossman still being on the team, the other for trading Thomas Jones because they thought this clown was any good). 2. The Chicago Bears coaches and GM are stupids. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. The Chicago Bears coaches and GM are stupids (one for Rex Grossman still being on the team, the other for trading Thomas Jones because they thought this clown was any good). 2. The Chicago Bears coaches and GM are stupids. Not so much for Rex Grossman still being on the team, but because they didn't draft anyone to possibly replace him. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on May 04, 2008, 03:40:58 pm Like I said, the Bears fans are going to be worse regarding Henne than Miami fans were over Brady Quinn.
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Kirbyjr on May 04, 2008, 08:03:50 pm Yes, the Bears GM and coaches are stupid, but this goes higher up. The McCaskey family that owns the Bears are some of the biggest jokes in professional sports ownership history. I dont care if this team went to the SB a couple of years ago, that family has done nothing but run that team into the ground since the late 80's.
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on May 04, 2008, 08:11:24 pm After checking the details of the arrest, he apparently was stopped for driving a boat while drunk, then he got beligerent and violent with the cops.
OK, so if he was drunk while driving the boat, and I'm assuming it was his first offense, so if he just let it play out, his agent/lawyer could probably get it swept under the rug with a bit of paperwork. No, instead he had to start fighting with the cops and they pepper sprayed him and dragged him ashore. At that point, he pretty much tripled his charges. What a moron!!!! Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: SportsChick on May 04, 2008, 09:26:41 pm If I'm not mistaken, driving a boat drunk will still net you a DUI

The Chicago Bears coaches and GM are stupids. That's actually one thing, but I guess if it's good enough to show, it's good enough to show twice. Also...is "stupids" a noun? Or was the pluralization a typo in both spots? I just want to clear that up before I call a group of people stupids the first time. ;) Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on May 04, 2008, 10:26:36 pm If I'm not mistaken, driving a boat drunk will still net you a DUI Yeah it will, but that alone could've been dismissed or he probably would've gotten off with a slap on the wrist if he hadn't begun getting violent with the officers. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Defense54 on May 04, 2008, 10:54:43 pm Is this the Year of the Dumb Ass-ed Running Back?
Benson, Harrison, and our very own Reagan Mauia all in trouble. Somebody Put a guard around Rickey Williams!! Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Philly Fin Fan on May 04, 2008, 11:06:23 pm The Bears drafted a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round a few weeks ago. In my opinion, that means that they were already thinking about Benson's replacement.

Post by: bsmooth on May 05, 2008, 11:50:57 am In boot camp we used to get called stupids all the time. Boot Camp? Did they take your maids away during hell week? >:D Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Spider-Dan on May 05, 2008, 12:18:03 pm Wow, I'm really glad we had the #2 pick in '05. Otherwise, we might have ended up with this clown.
You'd think that if he can't do anything on the field, the least he could do is stay clean off of it. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on May 05, 2008, 05:41:39 pm Boot Camp? Did they take your maids away during hell week? >:D Umm...you were in the army. What was your boot camp 2 weeks longer? But I'm sure it was harder because of all the reading right? ;) Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on May 05, 2008, 05:47:15 pm He tried to run away from the cops, but only managed to get 3.4 yards before he was stopped.
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on May 05, 2008, 05:53:37 pm ^ HA!!
A little bit of douchiness has suddenly been replaced with humour. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: bsmooth on May 05, 2008, 06:38:11 pm Umm...you were in the army. What was your boot camp 2 weeks longer? But I'm sure it was harder because of all the reading right? ;) It was a lot different in 1988 when I went and the current kinder, but smarter boot camp. For the record when I reclassed to Blackhawk mechanic in 04 we had to use Air Force manuals for the engines. Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: StL FinFan on May 05, 2008, 06:41:46 pm And just how much more pissed off are Bears fans that they didn't draft Rashard Mendenhall?

Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: bsmooth on May 05, 2008, 08:25:53 pm But you're right. That sure did suck going without our maids that week. Did you at least get your substandard housing pay for having to live in the barracks? Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on June 09, 2008, 07:55:13 am BUMP
This idiot got arrested again for DUI. Apparently he can't stay away from the bottle. He's gonna end up like Koren Robinson if he keeps it up. http://www.miamiherald.com/858/story/562041.html Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: TonyB0D on June 09, 2008, 06:53:32 pm they cut his ass. so much for all the talking heads saying he would turn out better than ronnie!
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: Defense54 on June 09, 2008, 08:00:39 pm If I'm not mistaken, driving a boat drunk will still net you a DUI Yes. Even riding a bicycle drunk can net you a DUI. What people don't grasp is even if you are innocent ......cooperate. You are innocent until proven guilty. You become a Jerk off you have just made it that much easier for the Police to prove and you to disapprove. Then when your drunk you usually don't make the best decisions....... ::) Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: StL FinFan on June 09, 2008, 08:06:35 pm Innocent until proven guilty is a joke. If you are drunk, in MO at least, refuse the breath test and get your license suspended for a year. Better than having a DUI on your record, just ask Leonard Little.
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: SportsChick on June 09, 2008, 08:14:10 pm And the second one got his ass cut
Title: Re: Cedric Benson arrested. Post by: ethurst2 on June 10, 2008, 05:17:37 am I don't know what it is with the Bears draft picks and aquisitions, especially on offense.
They haven't had a REAL franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman. Jim McMahon lived off of the Bears defense in 1985 which probably the third best single season defense in NFL History (Atlanta #1 in 1977 and the Steelers #1 in 1976) and a Hall of Fame running back, Walter Payton. And since Payton left, there have only been two backs that were "okay" but not overwhelming in their system and that was Neal Anderson and Anthony Thomas in his rookie year. Defense, no problem. Offense...a different story. They draft bland quarterbacks and running backs that have potential but they don't turn out. How in the world do you let Thomas Jones go for this guy? He's an injury waiting to happen and doesn't make the right decisions. he even got hurt in the Super Bowl. That should have sent a message to the Bears front office but it didn Benson will now have his "bust" alongside other "busts" of running backs since Payton retired. The Bears really puzzle me when it comes to improving the offensive side of the ball. |
