Title: Watching Brady Quinn play last night
Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 19, 2008, 08:57:50 am
Looked very impressive and made it a game.  Up to that point, the Giants were blowing the Browns away.

Cam Cameron, you suck!!!!!!

I really wish he'd move on as well...but Brady Quinn doesn't suck. (not even close). ;)

Brady Quinn sucks.

Brady Quinn is,  20/29... for 257 yards... 1TD, 1int... 93.6 passer RTG this preseason. ;)   The QB Camoron picked is doing MUCH better then Quinn, Right ? :D

Did you not see the one touch?  The DB was all over the Wr in perfect stride with him & Quinn under threw the ball to the DBs side.  It landed in the DBs arms & the he could not catch it.  The Wr then & only then had the chance to catch the ball.  It was a throw that had a Miami Qb threw, then Tommy would have been here raising cane.

Horrible throw.  Beck is not getting the chance simply because this regime is looking for their own players.  Had Cam drafted Quinn, then odds are he would be on the outside looking in as well.

Amen!!!!! Once Quinn get's his opportunity to start he's going to cash in. I don't blame dolphin fans for being pissed. No way was beck better than Quinn two years ago.

He's right...that was definitely a mistake pass, and he lucked into it becoming a positive play. If he didn't take that WR out for a steak dinner for saving his ass, he probably should.

I still think he is on course to becoming a solid starting NFL QB...he has all the talent and mental toughness that he needs. It doesn't really matter though...because he isn't a Dolphin and won't be a Dolphin any time soon.

I was one of the people who wanted the Fins to draft Quinn badly. But he's not a Fin, so I'm not going to dwell on it. Besides, I like Henne better.

I'll move on when I feel like it.  Fact is, this was the first of many bad moves that Cameron made that led this team to it's worst season in franchise history.  He will always be measured by that, no matter where he goes.

And I hope his career flames out with that other team.

Quinn looked like every bit the first rounder he was last night, and I still seethe when I think about when Cam passed him over for a WR/KR.... a position that was not in need at the time.

Your right, it wasn't a great throw by Quinn.  But at least Brady gave his receiver the oppurtunity to make a play on the ball down the field...and look what happened  ...Beck is such a pansy, he would not have even thought about throwing that ball...all he would have saw was the pressure coming at him, and Beck would have either taken a sack, fumbled or dumped the ball off to one of his rbs.

Cam Camoron is the worst coach in the history of the NFL.....Period!!!! ;)

QFT.

The thing about the Brady Pick for me has nothing to really do with Brady or Beck. The draft is a gamble.  If Beck had hit then Cam would have been the second coming of Shula..........The thing that still bothers and burns me to the core is that we needed a QB much more then a freaking Receiver/Flyer.  I know some of you are tired of hearing it , but don't tell me you didn't know what you were going to read when you opened the thread.  ::)

Who is Cam Cameron?

For some reason, some people NEED to dwell on the past. I always remember the line from The Lion King, when Rafiki hits Simba on the head with his stick. Simba asks "what was that for?" and Rafiki replies "Forget about it, its in the past!"

Cameron is part of the past. Saban is part of the past. Wanny is part of the past. I don't hold any anger or animosity towards any of them. They all did what they thought was for the best. Some moves paid off, most didn't. We'll probably see the same thing with this current regime (tell me how many people still think it was a great move signing McCown or Wilford?)

Funny........Marino, Duper , Shula and the whole 72 Team are all part of the past as well. Yet no one here has a problem discussing That part of the past over and over again..........

I hate Cam as much as the next fellow....Nick Saban is the devil though...not only did he lie to all of us dolfans and abandon us like the fat girl you slept with when you had too many beers the night before, he talked all this shit about my school (USF) when they where doing their #2 ranking thing (kindof funny how he says USF players have a low academic requirement when Alabama's is lower...fucking idiot)...add the fact he just looks like a certified douche bag and their you go...oh back to Quinn...I almost threw my remote through my TV when I saw us draft Ginn...buuuut I still like Ginn...not his fault that Cam is a fucking moron (and pretty goofy looking in his own right).  Having said all that, Quinn isn't a dolphin so screw him too!

I am a huge Dolfan and have been since 1970 and the 1-15 season is the worst I have seen any dolphin team in those 37 years, but dude this is a game, we are just fans, if it ruined your life chances are you need psychological counseling.

I wanted Quinn just as much as anyone (I think you were at the draft party when i kept calling Brian and Dave). But fact is, he's not a Fin. So since there are people who praise his glory when he touches a football, I need to bust their chops when he has a bad game.
Surely you can appreciate that!  ;D

Think of it like this, a few years back, when the Fins had the #2 overall pick, I wanted Cadillac. The Fins took Ronnie. Now, if I had posted how great Cadillac was every single time he touched the ball his rookie year, wouldn't it have annoyed you? And surely once Cadillac started to break down, you would've busted my chops, right?  ;D

Besides, look at it like this- not taking Quinn is what brought Parcells, Ireland and Sparano to the Dolphins.

Here's the difference.  Dan Marino, Coach Shula, the Marks Brothers, and the 72 team were ALL Miami Dolphins.  So, it makes sense to talk about them.  They were a part of this franchise, and those players represent the greatness that this franchise once had.  Brady Quinn on the other hand is NOT, and I repeat is NOT a Miami Dolphin.  Never has been, never will be.  It makes no sense to talk about a guy who got drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

I find it amazing how people overrate Quinn even though he has played an NFL snap. We've been observing most of his performance based on preseason games. Judge him when he is starting and is on the field for 60 minutes.

Matt Ryan has looked great this pre-season. I don't believe that Parcells passed him over!!!

Good point Philly.  The thing is, we passed him over to fill a position of great need.

Whereas Brady Quinn was a position of need when he was available and WR was not.  Plus, you don't draft a kick returner in the first round when you're coming off a 6-10 season.

Vernon Carey played pretty damned good at LT last season. Matt Ryan fell right into our laps, and he was passed over.

(BTW- I am happy with Henne, I am merely stating this for demonstrative purposes)

WR was a position of need, and still is.  quit your bitching.

And stop saying "we drafted a kick returner" because you know FULL WELL that he is a WR.

Why do some people have a problem with this thread? In my humble opinion it's a perfectly legitimate, and (at times) interesting, topic. The "drafting a kick returner" bit got old fast (as did the "Ginn family" thing), but discussions of Brady Quinn seem quite legitimate to me. That we passed him over (like 12? other teams after us) at a time when quarterback was arguably our greatest need just makes him a bit more interesting to follow.

I have every right to discuss this.  Matter of fact, I'm gonna hold Cam Cameron to this as long as he's in the NFL.
