Title: Former Fins Post by: Philly Fin Fan on August 25, 2008, 01:10:02 pm There's a lot of former Fins playing around the league.
1. Which former Fin do you think will be a huge surprise with his new team (think of Welker last year)? 2. Which former Fin will be a huge bust with his new team? 3. Which former Fin do you think should've hung it up? 4. Which former Fin will be the first to criticize the Fins with a remark about "the losing atmosphere", etc? My answers: 1. Lorenzo Booker 2. Kind of hard to gauge this one. I'll go with a Fin from a few seasons ago who has yet to explode (unless its against his wife)- Randy McMichael or Marty Booker. 3. Toss up- Zach Thomas or Trent Green 4. Jason Taylor or Marty Booker Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Brian Fein on August 25, 2008, 01:12:22 pm 1.) Lorenzo Booker - we should have kept him
2.) Jason Taylor - I think he will be a bust in Washington (maybe Travis Daniels belongs here too) 3.) Trent Green. He's scrambled eggs. 4.) Jay Feely Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: MaineDolFan on August 25, 2008, 01:17:04 pm 3.) Trent Green. He's scrambled eggs. You need help. Let it go. :) Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Rick on August 25, 2008, 04:20:37 pm 1. Zach Thomas- He will have a big year in Dallas
2. Jason Taylor- Injuries and.... 3. Jason Taylor- His heart is in Hollywood 4. Jay Feely- He never shuts the F up !!!! Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 25, 2008, 05:30:46 pm My answers: 1. Lorenzo Booker or Zach Thomas. Both are primed for banner seasons with their new teams. 2. Marty Booker. In Chicago, they don't have a QB that can get him the ball. 3. Trent Green. The guy's one big shot away from having a bowl of jello for a brain. 4. Jay Feely. He couldn't keep his mouth shut here, even after he was cut. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Phishfan on August 25, 2008, 06:00:03 pm I was surprised to not see Tommy mention Culpepper or Cameron at all in this thread. That's why I clicked on it.
I don't think any former Dolphins will be a huge surprise. I think Zach will take the bust label because I don't expect him to finish the year. Zach or Trent Green should have retired. Marty Booker is most likely to trash the team. He isn't a vocal player, but he didn't want to be traded here so I bet he has grumbled in private for a very long time. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 25, 2008, 06:05:03 pm I was surprised to not see Tommy mention Culpepper or Cameron at all in this thread. That's why I clicked on it. Culpepper's out of the league so he can't really win any of those awards. Cameron is a coach. I thought you could only use players that were either traded or released this past offseason/training camp. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: DolFan619 on August 25, 2008, 06:17:28 pm 1. Lorenzo Booker
2. Jason Taylor 3. Trent Green 4. Jay Feely Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Tenshot13 on August 25, 2008, 09:17:57 pm 1. Sammantha Madison
2. Brian Cox 3. Patricia Surtain 4. Nick "The Biggest Douche in the World" Saban Trent Green's picks because his brain is applesauce >:D what a let-down he was Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Phishfan on August 25, 2008, 09:22:02 pm Am I the only one who finds the above post a waste of time reading? Feminizing two players that were cornerstoens of our defense and mentioning a player who has been out of the league for years???

QFT Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Defense54 on August 25, 2008, 10:38:59 pm I really feel that Zack Thomas and the Cowgirls are gonna get a Ring this year.

Ok let me be vanilla and just reiterate something someone else already said 1. Lorenzo Booker 2. JT 3. Trent Green 4. Feely Lighten up I was just messing around...seems everyone is so serious with their opinions on here 8) Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Tenshot13 on August 25, 2008, 11:30:46 pm Oh and by the way I was huge Madison and Surtain fans but guess what? They play for different teams now so they are subjected to ridicule until they retire as Dolphins...just like Jason "light in the loafers" Taylor.
Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: StL FinFan on August 25, 2008, 11:42:17 pm Dude, subliminally referring to guys as somehow gay because they are no longer on the Dolphins is not funny.
Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: bsfins on August 25, 2008, 11:43:28 pm 1.) Jesse Chatman with the Jets (He will bite us in the ass this year, they always do)or Rex Hadnot with the Browns (I only seeing booker getting major time if Westbrook gets hurt)
2.) Travis Daniels (I don't think he can stay healthy ) Zach maybe the other... 3.) Zach Thomas...When you start getting your bell rung, there's no surgery that can help you 4.) Keith Traylor? Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Tenshot13 on August 25, 2008, 11:46:17 pm Quote Dude, subliminally referring to guys as somehow gay because they are no longer on the Dolphins is not funny. to me it is...but apparently to everyone else it isn't...fine I'll take it easy then Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Philly Fin Fan on August 25, 2008, 11:48:52 pm (I only seeing booker getting major time if Westbrook gets hurt) I thought this as well originally. But I caught a bit of the Eagles pre-season game last Friday night and they lined him up in the slot on the goal line for a lot of plays, when they had Tony Hunt (FB) in the backfield. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Philly Fin Fan on August 25, 2008, 11:50:18 pm to me it is...but apparently to everyone else it isn't...fine I'll take it easy then You may want to take it easy with the gay jokes. Not everyone finds it funny. Quite a few people find it offensive. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: landlocked on August 26, 2008, 02:52:06 am You may want to take it easy with the gay jokes. Some people don't find it fun at all. And he has done it in several threads. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Tenshot13 on August 26, 2008, 04:09:01 pm Ok I forgot that in the P.C. world we live in people can't take a joke anymore...I am truly sorry to any homosexuals I have offended...I was trying to poke fun at Trent Green more than anything...having said that I probably have more gay friends than all of the people on this entire message board combined.
why don't you jump on the Tuna's back for calling Terry Glen "she"...oh wait you probably found that funny didn't you...like i said I will be taking it easy on the "gay jokes" if you want to call them that (although I never said anything about anyone being gay...it was more about them being women...except JT but come on he was on dancing with the stars instead of training camp! and if what I just said offends women then sorry for that too)...I'm just saying that there are waaaay more offensive things than what I have posted and my bet is you probably aren't gay yourself so who are you to say that's offensive...I think your just a negative Nancy (that's a saying not an insult)...having said that...I will be just as vanilla as everyone else on here...no more funny comments...only seriousness...because the NFL is a very very serious thing. >:( Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Philly Fin Fan on August 26, 2008, 04:24:21 pm Ok I forgot that in the P.C. world we live in people can't take a joke anymore...I am truly sorry to any homosexuals I have offended...I was trying to poke fun at Trent Green more than anything...having said that I probably have more gay friends than all of the people on this entire message board combined. why don't you jump on the Tuna's back for calling Terry Glen "she"...oh wait you probably found that funny didn't you...like i said I will be taking it easy on the "gay jokes" if you want to call them that (although I never said anything about anyone being gay...it was more about them being women...except JT but come on he was on dancing with the stars instead of training camp! and if what I just said offends women then sorry for that too)...I'm just saying that there are waaaay more offensive things than what I have posted and my bet is you probably aren't gay yourself so who are you to say that's offensive...I think your just a negative Nancy (that's a saying not an insult)...having said that...I will be just as vanilla as everyone else on here...no more funny comments...only seriousness...because the NFL is a very very serious thing. >:( Dude- chill out. Don't come on here and blatantly ignore the rules of posting and then get mad when it gets pointed out to you. We all like to have fun, but we are a little bit more mature than that I guess. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Tenshot13 on August 26, 2008, 04:28:43 pm I did chill out...I said I would stop because people found it offensive...then you still harped on the fact...that pissed me off...i made my point thereafter...and come on with the "maturity" thing...I'm done with it though...I'd rather move on to another topic :)
We are all Phin fans for the most part after all. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 26, 2008, 05:05:50 pm Dude, subliminally referring to guys as somehow gay because they are no longer on the Dolphins is not funny. I don't think referring to an NFL player as a woman is gay.... it's more like calling them soft or prima donnaish. Bill Parcells did refer to Terry Glenn as "she" Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: Sunstroke on August 27, 2008, 11:52:36 am I've unlocked this thread...please keep things on topic, or the lock will have to come out again (and I reeeeeally hate locking threads). Personally, I think tenshot has a valid point. After his original comment, he was told to chill...and he did. Then other people kept bringing the issue back up. Once you tell someone to chill, and they do...get off their back about it and move on please. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: CF DolFan on August 28, 2008, 10:04:27 am 3.) Zach Thomas...When you start getting your bell rung, there's no surgery that can help you They said that Zach's concussion wasn't as bad as originally thought. The lingering injury that put him on the IR was a sinus infection that caused migraines and was not because if his concussion. They didn't find out until after he was put on IR so he basically sat out the last part of the season healthy. He knew then he wanted to play so playing this year was never an issue. Look for Zach to rebound nicely. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 28, 2008, 11:15:42 am He knew then he wanted to play so playing this year was never an issue. Look for Zach to rebound nicely. I agree he wanted to play, but he didn't want to play for the Dolphins. He pulled up his parking sign when he packed his stuff at the end of last season. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: CF DolFan on August 28, 2008, 12:56:10 pm I agree he wanted to play, but he didn't want to play for the Dolphins. He pulled up his parking sign when he packed his stuff at the end of last season. He wanted to stay. The new regime told him they weren't going to keep him. Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: bsfins on August 28, 2008, 02:11:23 pm Maybe,But he had concussions before, the ones last year...Also he's playing in 3-4 Defense in Dallas,I've always felt like Zach needed the big DT's in front of him because of his size...Shedding Bloackers hasn't exactly been his forte...Getting hit by Big o -lineman,can ring your bell....It's just the way I see it.... ;)
Title: Re: Former Fins Post by: CF DolFan on August 29, 2008, 08:48:53 pm ^^^^ I would agree with that. I was just commenting on the fact a concussion isn't what stopped him last year.
