Title: In 5 minutes... Post by: Frimp on September 02, 2008, 01:27:13 am on ESPN 2, the 2007 Miami Dolphins Yearbook is on. I'm bored, and I think I am needing some pain and suffering, so I'm going to watch it. ;D

Post by: Sunstroke on September 02, 2008, 01:31:59 am Damn dude...couldn't you just hit yourself in the head with a brick 3 or 4 times and save yourself about 29 of those minutes? Title: Re: In 5 minutes... Post by: Frimp on September 02, 2008, 01:35:25 am I did that. But, I think the Great Pumpkin wants me to endure this. Its like a purification of pain.

"We drafted the entire Ginn family." "Fail forward fast" "Cam Cameron, you suck!! You're a fucking disgrace to this organization!! I want your ass fired!!!" Title: Re: In 5 minutes... Post by: dolfan13 on September 02, 2008, 11:32:34 am "fail forward fast" has to be the most ridiculous of all team building/leadership statements I have ever heard in my life. TDMMC should re-open the web store and put together an addition to those corny leadership posters with a "fail forward fast" version...
Title: Re: In 5 minutes... Post by: fyo on September 02, 2008, 12:06:06 pm "fail forward fast" has to be the most ridiculous of all team building/leadership statements I have ever heard in my life. TDMMC should re-open the web store and put together an addition to those corny leadership posters with a "fail forward fast" version... I believe the source is team-building guru Tom Peters. Regardless of who said it, I certainly agree with the underlying principles (as I understand them, anyway). It's a question of TRYING without FEAR of FAILING. Too many people in all professions take the safe, conservative path for no other reason that fair of failure. The point in "fail forward fast" is that you reward people who try, while punishing those who don't - even if the latter in a specific case is more successful. You learn more from your failures than your successes and getting those failures in early (i.e. fast) is crucial. Title: Re: In 5 minutes... Post by: Sunstroke on September 02, 2008, 01:04:31 pm Yeah, sound principle, but you can't throw taglines with the word "fail" in there unless you are certain that you won't fail. Because, if you do fail, those words will go from well-meant mantra to sneering epitaph in a big hurry. |
