Title: Can we ship Wilford to Seattle?
Post by: fyo on September 10, 2008, 07:34:50 am
The Seahawks' top 4 receivers are all injured. They just cut a second year receiver leaving them with a grand total of TWO WRs healthy enough to play on Sunday: Courtney Taylor (2nd year player, 7 catches in 9 games) and Logan Payne (undrafted rookie, 2 catches in 1 game).

Wilford, or any other WR on our roster, would seem like a prime candidate for Seattle.

I'd offer them Derek Hagan.  He'd make the second coming of Koren Robinson.

Or could we put Wilford on the field and see if he can run routes?  None of the WR's we have now seem to be able to.

I say we ask a 3rd rounder for Ginn. I'd be all for that. Lets have a decent year and Go for the Gusto in next years draft. 2 #2's and 2 #3's would be sweet.  ;)

I am so glad that the Dolphins don't hire people like you.

What's the matter with you??  If we were to trade Ginn now, I think that's the best we could get for him.  Of course it's only one game in his second season, so that could change if he performs better.... or worse for that matter.

Tommy, people like you can't wait to get Ginn off this team, and can't WAIT to see him play poorly.  Its like you'd rather have reasons to curse Cam Cameron than see the Dolphins be successful.

Come on Brian just because Tommy has an opinion about Ted Ginn it doesn't mean he is waiting on the edge of his couch to see Ginn and any other Cameron reject do poorly. You can't honestly say you have been happy with Ginns ability as a wide receiver, especially one drafted in the 1st round. Tommy said he only played one week so far this year and that his trade value could increase and decrease based on how he plays this year.
Tommy never said let's trade Ginn, he said let's trade Hagan which is a pretty good idea. There's no way the Tuna is going to keep Ginn around for long if he can't help this team out. I want my team to win, I root them all in every game, but I can see with my own eyes that Ginn did not step up in week one, the only good thing that happened to ginn was that he did not need to go wash his uniform from being dirty.

Seriously?  HAVE FRIGGIN PATIENCE

He's a second-year receiver who has been tossed into a role that he's not ready for.  You expect too much.  Oh no, he didn't step up week 1!  Let's ship his ass to Seattle.

How fickle are we?  Why does Ginn get such a short hook?

Cause his name isn't Brady Quinn?

Enough already with the hating.  Ginn is here, Quinn is not, Cameron is a part of HISTORY.  People should stop with the hatred and support the Dolphins.  We're a very young team, at every position, and all players, Ginn and Beck included, need time to DEVELOP.

I never nor did Tommy say let's trade Ginn to Seattle. I said it before this was only week one but if he does not step up this year he will be gone. Where I separate on this issue is I am glad we did not draft Quinn I do not believe he will be a great NFL QB, though I could be wrong. I think we could have done better then drafting Ginn. I am hoping Ginn will see his mistakes in week one and come out in week two and actually play.

Maybe YOU didn't, but someone did...

I say we ask a 3rd rounder for Ginn.

And, I didn't see Tommy disagreeing...

If we were to trade Ginn now, I think that's the best we could get for him.

I know he has sucked as a WR for us so far, and his return game was shitty last week...having said that, go back to last year and the preseason this year...when was the last time we had ANYONE take a return to the house?  I think he's worth keeping around for that alone...even though that is a low expectation for a first rounder, and I hope he does develop into a good WR...he's still young though, I'll give him until the end of this year/beginning of next before I say lets ship his ass.  Ya, lets get rid of Hagan's ass to Seattle.

Troy Williamson....Minnesota drafted Troy Williamson #7 overall in 2005 and gave him 2 years to play up to expectations...they traded him to Jacksonville this off-season for a  6TH,  6th round pick.....I'm not saying to trade Ginn quite yet, but Ireland/Parcells did say all players on the Dolphins were for sale....if someone offers a GOOD deal for Ginn, and the new regime sees fit to make the deal....I'm all for it...Like Defense said, we could put another nice draft class together by acquiring picks for guys who are not cut out for Miami's style of football...Davone Bess could easily fill Ginn's shoes on this team.
