Title: Predictions Week 2 - Dolphins @ Cardinals
Post by: Jim Gray on September 10, 2008, 04:17:41 pm
The Dolphins head to the desert to play the Cardinals in week 2.  Will Miami bounce back from a disappointing home loss in week 1?  Will the Cardinals build on their week 1 road win in SF?

Vegas has the Cardinals as 6.5 point favorites, but we don't use the spread here.  Straight up, who wins this Sunday?

I like the Cardinals to win, but I don't think they'll cover.

For the first time since they were in St. Louis, the Cardinals have a good team.

They've got skill position players and playmakers on offense and defense. Edgerrin James isn't the same running back but he's effective. How do you stop Fitzgerald and Boldin?

The Cardinals have All-Pro Adrian Wilson and Antrell Rolle in the secondary. I'm picking them to win the NFC West. I think that a guy the Trifecta (Bryan Robinson) let go is their starting defensive tackle and is playing pretty good. He impressed me last year under Cameron.

Kurt Warner turns back the clock to 2000 and bombs the Miami secondary.

I say Cardinals 24 Miami 14.

Miami: 20
Arizona: 34

I hate to say this, but I just don't see our defensive backs being able to hold Fotzgerald and Boldin down. I think AZ will air it out early and often, and Miami will be playing from behind the entire game.

HiJack/

Yeah StL Fin Fan. Don't you remember Jim Hart (QB), Jackie Smith(TE), Terry Metcalf(RB-KR), Ottis Anderson(RB), Mel Gray(WR) and Roy Green (two way player at WR-CB), Larry Wilson (S) ( basically invented the Safety Blitz), Dan Dierdorf(G) with Conrad Dobler(G) biting people in the pile? The Cardinals couldn't get past Dallas and always fell short in the regular season.

For the first time since those days, the Cardinals have skill at every position.

Don Coryell was even their coach until they fired him and let him go to San Diego where he developed four Hall Of Famers and Air Coryell.

Bill Bidwell (another Huizenga but with a scrooge hat on) has always kept the Cards out of the playoffs but I think they are going to win the division this year. They are going to give Miami problems.

/End of Hijack

They have made the playoffs only once since they moved to AZ in 1988. That was in 1996 with Jake Plummer and David Boston!!!!!

This year will be their second playoff run in the valley...because they are going to win the NFC West. Seattle is taking major injury hits and was a bit overrated to begin with. St Louis is arguably one of the worst teams in football, and the 49ers, while improved, can't hang with the Cardinals' offense. AZ will win the West, and it will be the worst record among all division winners.

This is the sooth that I, as soothsayer, so sayeth. ;)

I agree....they win by default of being in a shitty division. Kind of like my Dodgers!!!!  ;D

I picked the Dolphins in week 1 after having a dream that Miami was shutting out the Jets late in the game.  Having debunked my ability to dream the future......I'm forced to base this weeks prediction on what each team was able to do in week 1.

Dolphins - 13
Cardinals - 27
