Man, two choke jobs in two years.  This is gonna reflect really badly on Willie Randolph and he may never manage another MLB team again as a result.  He led the Mets to that infamous choke job at the end of last season, Met's ownership made the mistake of keeping him around, and the Mets were playing like bird shit at the beginning of this season.... which cost them at the end. 

If I was the Mets owner, I would've canned Willie Randolph after last season's debacle.  You don't pull a choke job like that on my team and expect to keep your job.

Second year in a row that we ruined their season.

I can live with the Philies going to the playoffs.

They weren't going to do anything in the offseason without a bullpen anyway. This team didn't deserve to be in the playoffs.

And - oomph - back on track:  I like how half the sports radio talk shows I've heard in the past day and a half have all brought up the "I bet Willie Randolph is happy that the Mets choked" chatter. Are that many people really that petty that often that we now assume "spiteful bitterness" is the default setting?

Can't believe they want to extend Minaya 4 years. He didn't make the playoffs 3 out of 4 years and his payroll has been Top 5 all 4 years. His biggest acquisitions are:

1) Johan Santana - No other bidders, just basically signed a blank check and handed it to Johan. No credit for this.

2) Carlos Beltran - Same here. The Yankees actually were offered Carlos for less money and declined. No credit given.

3) Carlos Delgado - Got him in one of the Marlins annual fire sales for Mike Jacobs, Yusmeiro Petit, some other guy and cash. Good move, but once again he just was the one with a large checkbook.

Guys like Wright and Reyes were already there. I am not saying he hasn't done some good moves, but a 4 year extension after ANOTHER collapse? That's ridiculous. Re-sign him for a year if you want, but don't give him a longer deal than a guy like Theo Epstein who only signed for 3 years.
