Title: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on December 23, 2008, 12:01:52 am Fantasy "pick your lineup" game that we've run up here...fun for the FFL junkie who doesn't want their season to end (like mine did in the TDMMC league on that FG from Gould as I typed this...*&^% me sideways). I also need to do this game for the Uber rankings on ESPN (cat B game in my wheelhouse<g>), so I'll take you guys seriously this year for sure. ;D
Rules...you can change out your roster every round until the conference championships, and then they lock. (see explanation cut and pasted below). League name: TDMMC Playoff Challenge password: TDMMC (all caps) League link: http://games.espn.go.com/gridiron/group?groupID=340 If anyone has any problems, let me know... Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on December 23, 2008, 06:31:10 am I want in, but that link is taking me to a completely different group.... and when I type in the group name in the search bar, nothing comes up.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Brian Fein on December 23, 2008, 10:28:19 am is this the same cap-based game they have on NFL.com? where you can only change a limited number of players each week?
I'm IN! And I will WIN! Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on December 23, 2008, 05:21:52 pm Not sure why you're not finding it, Tommy...but try this. Go to the game front page: http://games.espn.go.com/nflpc/frontpage Create an entry... Once entry is created, it will ask you to join or create a group. There will be a small field where you can search for a group name. Type in TDMMC and it will take you to the league page and cue you for a password. Password is also TDMMC Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: bsfins on December 23, 2008, 06:24:15 pm Any of you fucking pigs move, and I'll execute every last one of ya!...Yeah....I'm in.... :D

Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 01, 2009, 12:59:30 pm Just to give you guys a heads up... I now have the perfect week one roster set, so expect to be looking up at Tuna Surprise on Monday morning. That is all... ;D Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 03, 2009, 02:59:41 pm Hopefully everyone got their rosters set... Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: stinkfish on January 03, 2009, 11:43:07 pm I hate that Sproles guy.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 04, 2009, 12:45:33 am I think I was the only one in this group to start Sproles today... ;) Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: stinkfish on January 04, 2009, 03:16:17 am I think I was the only one in this group to start Sproles today... I hate that Sunstroke guy.;) Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 04, 2009, 11:40:38 am I hate that Sunstroke guy. LOL No disrespect to LT, whom I love as much as the "Shoot your load here, LT!" tattoo I have on my lower back, but when he isn't 100% healthy, and Sproles is...then Sproles is the better RB. I certainly didn't expect a 26 out of him, but I figured 14-15 was reasonable. Brian is going to take the round one lead today anyway...so no biggie. ;D Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 05, 2009, 10:54:59 am Well, both of my Sunday players (Ravens-D and David Akers) had decent performances (one more enjoyable to me than the other), and I'll hold on to my lead heading into round two. Still really close though, and anyone can still catch fire and take this sucker. Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on January 05, 2009, 10:59:07 am I think I was the only one in this group to start Sproles today... ;) Good call.... but I wouldn't advise starting him this week. Pittsburgh's defense can stop General Patton's tanks. Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: stinkfish on January 06, 2009, 09:43:03 pm Who's who in this thing?
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Orlando Rays on January 07, 2009, 09:15:05 am Orlando Highway Hostages

I'm Tuna Surprise Brian is Debacle alk3hol is, um, alk3hol VidKid is DDT (stands for dangerous deep threat) Lil_B is Head Trauma Revenge RaptorsFan is Raptorsfan Not 100% sure on "DolphinsMakeYOUCry" ...think it might be Dolphins4Life. Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Dolphin-UK on January 08, 2009, 12:19:02 pm Not 100% sure on "DolphinsMakeYOUCry" ...think it might be Dolphins4Life. That would be me :) I was hungover and rushing to get myself set up.... Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 08, 2009, 12:21:50 pm Aha!! I am going to add all of your profiles to my friends list on ESPN...just hit "accept" when you get the notification...unless you don't want to be my friend (sniff-sniff) :'( Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 10, 2009, 10:47:33 am Don't forget to set your week 2 lineup, folks... Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: bsfins on January 10, 2009, 02:51:15 pm I'm prepared for my week 2 ass kicking..... :D
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: stinkfish on January 11, 2009, 02:14:05 am I suck at this.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 11, 2009, 04:52:23 pm I definitely left the door open for the rest of ya...I gacked this round pretty badly. Two more rounds to go... Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Dolphin-UK on January 11, 2009, 05:48:47 pm I rue those last minute sensible changes back to safer options, only to see the No Form League continue in its amazing run of lower ranked teams not reading their scripts :)
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on January 12, 2009, 07:17:13 am OK, time to make some changes. My advice.... load up with players who you think are going to be in the Super Bowl. Choose carefully, because if you pick players from the wrong teams, you're screwed.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: raptorsfan29 on January 12, 2009, 07:29:43 pm i got 122 points this week, very nice. But because of my poor showing the week before i only have 189 points. good for 7th.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on January 12, 2009, 07:33:36 pm I suck really bad at this. This is the third year in a row that I'm in the cellar..... although if there's some fine wines down here, it's not so bad. ;D
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Orlando Rays on January 14, 2009, 02:01:38 pm Week 3 picks will lock for the Super Bowl as well, so choose wisely.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 18, 2009, 04:46:13 pm My 4 Cards (Warner-Edge-Fitz-Rackers) have 60 pts at halftime... Let's go Tuna Surprise! ;D Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: stinkfish on January 18, 2009, 05:45:15 pm My 4 Cards (Warner-Edge-Fitz-Rackers) have 60 pts at halftime... Let's go Tuna Surprise! ;D Good for you.Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on January 19, 2009, 06:59:14 am Still in last place, but I pulled to within 3 points of Lil B, and he made the mistake of picking Philly players. I'll leapfrog him in the Super Bowl.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Orlando Rays on January 19, 2009, 08:54:21 am Got some tough cookies here. I'm still in third place.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Brian Fein on January 19, 2009, 11:24:03 am I deserve to lose. I had a cap problem (I was at 50.1 million) and I took out Fitzy like a dumbass. I really am pissed at myself because I didn't realize I did that until just now. I had him on my team since week 1.
Flippity flip. Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on January 19, 2009, 11:35:43 am Thankfully I'll have a full roster for the SB...Glad I changed from Philly to AZ players on Saturday. Looks like at least 3-4 people still have a realistic shot, so it should be interesting. Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: bsfins on January 19, 2009, 05:35:44 pm I went with the all or nothing approach this wek...Hopeing all you guy's with the Fitzgerald/Warners combos would have less players....Ohh well It was better than playing safe like I have in years past and ended up at the bottom! :D
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Orlando Rays on January 20, 2009, 09:31:42 am Definitely glad I picked Pittsburgh and Arizona over Philly and Bawlmur. 8)

No one remembers whether you finished 2nd or 7th... um, come to think of it, no one will remember who won either, except the person who wins. For everyone else, the game will disappear like a mustard fart in the wind...momentarily tangy, and then forgotten. (and yes, I stole part of that mustard fart line from Things to do in Denver When You're Dead) Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on February 02, 2009, 09:40:10 am Thanks to all for playing this year!! Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 02, 2009, 09:49:29 pm Holy shit!!! I finished fourth, my best finish ever!!! Congrats to Sunstroke.
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on February 03, 2009, 09:01:17 pm If anyone checked out the standings of this game today and didn't see my entry there any more, I apologize for the momentary "wtf?" you may have experienced. I was participating in two groups for this game, the TDMMC group and the ESPN Top 50 fantasy gaming group. The "1 of 10" ranking for TDMMC is groovy and all, but on my ESPN games "Uber" page, I wanted to have my "2 of 30" for ESPN Top 50 as the displayed finish, because most of the views on that page will come from other ESPN Top 50 group members and members of other top ESPN gaming groups. Plus, when all of my games listed are top-3 in ESPN Top 50 competition, I'd allow myself to start talking smack with those guys. ;) On a side note... ESPN has a ton of different fantasy games throughout the year, and if any of the TDMMC crew are interested in playing any of them, just let me know. The schedule for the 2009 Fantasy season on ESPN is here: http://games.espn.go.com/uber/story?pageName=2009\schedule (http://games.espn.go.com/uber/story?pageName=2009\schedule) Modified to add...the standings now show the Orlando Highway Hostages as the group winner, so congrat's to Orlando. ;D Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Brian Fein on February 05, 2009, 06:23:04 pm If anyone checked out the standings of this game today and didn't see my entry there any more, I apologize for the momentary "wtf?" you may have experienced. Sorry its "embarrassing" for you to win over us mere novices... ::);) Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on February 05, 2009, 08:50:29 pm Yeah, that's it ::) ...though I do owe $100 to your novice brother at the next YJFF draft. (fukk-fukk-fukk) Tell me straight though, because I am curious. When you do a TDMMC game on ESPN, do you even look at the games profiles of the other folks? Do any of the rest of ya? In regular fantasy "draftable" leagues against the rest of the unwashed masses on ESPN, I'm that manic mutherfukker that looks at everyone's profile to gauge who's a vet and who's a rook, so I can better project which other drafters are likely to know a certain sleeper, or be up on an injury status of a player, etc... Yeah, I know... I'd considering therapy, but my insurance doesn't cover it and I'm a little cash-tight right now. ;) Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: bsfins on February 06, 2009, 12:06:42 pm Uhh Hem...Some of us Little People wouldn't mind to start thinking about Baseball season.... :D ;)
Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on February 06, 2009, 01:17:26 pm You know I'll have the baseball league set up as soon as Yahoo makes it available... ;D Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Brian Fein on February 06, 2009, 01:38:25 pm Tell me straight though, because I am curious. When you do a TDMMC game on ESPN, do you even look at the games profiles of the other folks? Actually, no, I don't. Lately, I haven't been in any fantasy leagues with random strangers. I've had too much bad luck with them. Between people "quitting" mid season, and just being overall morons (drafting Adam Vinatieri in the second round), I gave that up and would rather form my own league (a la last year's baseball league).Do any of the rest of ya? Title: Re: TDMMC Playoff Challenge Post by: Sunstroke on February 06, 2009, 02:24:24 pm Actually, no, I don't. Lately, I haven't been in any fantasy leagues with random strangers. Between people "quitting" mid season, and just being overall morons (drafting Adam Vinatieri in the second round), I gave that up and would rather form my own league (a la last year's baseball league). This is the exact reason that I was so excited about being invited into the ESPN Top 50 group... I knew that it would be top level gamers going all out in every league, and what price can ya put on great competition? It's also another reason I scan games histories of other drafters prior to a random league draft starting. If I see there are more than a couple of inactive profiles, I jump out of the room and go look for some better competition in the next draft room. It's also why I value my long-running leagues like YJFF...I dig the competition. |
