Title: Thank you Dolphins!!!
Post by: MaineDolFan on January 04, 2009, 05:05:51 pm
11-5, AFC East Champions and a reason to cheer my 1st love all over again.

Thank you, Miami Dolphins, for restoring pride in the best professional sports franchise in the world!

Can't wait to see what draft day brings!

Ditto for me.
No matter what the trolls say, they were on the outside looking in.
I would have been pleased with 6 wins and I never dreamed of 11 wins.
I will be going into the off season with the highest hopes I have had in many years.

Thank you Dolphins.  ;D

PS - I just read on Yahoo! Sports that Parcells told Uncle Wayne he will be staying with the Dolphins.  :)

With the way our last game ended, I think it's fair to say that we will NOT have Sports Illustrated (and the like) predicting us as Super Bowl contenders in 2009.

I believe this is a good thing; I think this team will play a lot better as an underdog than as a favorite.

This year Miami certainly exceeded expectations; after last year's debacle and the talent deficit on the roster, most predictions were in the area of 4 to 6 wins, with the more optimistic fans thinking 8 and 8.

Miami was probably the 10th or 11th best team in football this year, more or less; a tremendous advance from last year when they were #32 out of 32. The rebuilding project is probably a year ahead of schedule. It was a great and happy season overall, despite today's playoff loss. Let's hope the braintrust picks up some good rookies and free agents, finds a few more gems like Bess, and that the team continues to improve.

While nothing is ever guaranteed, there is reason for optimism.

The O-Line is young and played nicely this year. We have two undrafted receivers and a draft bust playing well. Ginn just needs to take some of Rodney Harrison's steroids to bulk up and he can have a 1,000 yard season in 2009.

Parcells is staying, so we should have another good draft. Definite cause for optimism.

All good things must come to an end.  It's been a great season and I'm looking forward to this team being more talented (if not better) in 2009, and developing more younger players at more positions.

Thank you Parcells for sticking around.

Thanks Dolphins for letting my season extend to January!  Recently, we've been eliminated from playoff contention by late October...well, moving on to the Heat & Spurs...

If I were a global mod, 99.999999999% of all your idiot posts (see above) would disappear the moment I was required to read them.

Check that...I'd just ban your ass and make the TDMMC world a more pleasant place.

Thank you Dolphins for being in a position to "control your own destiny" and actually making the playoffs...so much better than the cancer that was '07.

Don't know about you guys.........but beating the Jets at home and those circumstances WAS my Superbowl. I have absolutely no bad feelings about this season ........(maybe except for that dropped Pass by Ricky in the Jets game  :P) but I really can't wait until the Draft and see what we are gonna do about that sad assed special Teams and our Defensive back field.

Word.

Beating the Jets, on the road, and knocking NE out of the playoffs in one movement was the best moment in a long time.
