Excellent! Way to stick to your guns BC. Fuck these guys who sign contracts and try to bolt one or 2 years into the deal.

BC said this would happen if he interviewed. Apparently there was a gentleman's agreement that he would coach at BC beyond '08. According to the BC AD, he is doing a disservice to the College by interviewing for other positions (disservice being recruiting)

I think it is ballsy. I wonder if schools are going to try to start writing something in the contracts to keep from having to pay coaches for a firing of this nature?

I've heard of some schools having a "loyalty clause" in contracts saying that the coach cannot leave for x amount of years

Hey, they gave him fair warning. They said if he interviewed, he would be fired. He interviewed, and he was fired.

They warned him. If he didn't do it, he would like a total coward. He is sitting on a solid buyout, and he is a solid coach so I see him grabbing another job coming up here.

Exactly - he's getting the $$ for the last 3 years of the deal
