Title: Sluts 101
Post by: Dphins4me on January 29, 2009, 07:50:30 pm
Must be a new class being taught in our public High Schools.  Just think there was a Gov. hired teacher who thought this was appropriate.

She's not fat, she's pregnant!  Thank you, MTV...or Spice Channel, whichever.

one thing I hate about dance teams: these days they don't actually dance.

This "dancing" was horrible. The team was no in sync and there was one girl who, when they were all in the line, looked like she was thrown in there as a joke. Terrible.

I stopped watching about a minute 45 in, but it wasn't any worse than any other dance team I've seen. They should be renamed wiggle your ass and gyrate the air teams

Yes they were horrible.

So you missed when they brought the boys out into the chair & basically start giving a PG version of a lap dance.

WOW and WOW. Could have gone without watching this "dance" video! If you're gonna be slutty at least do it with a good choreographer, YIKES.

I think the chick in the middle close to the camera side of the stands might just have herself a career.

That was some of the worst "dancing" I've ever seen.

Agreed. I was on drill team in high school. Our school was the first school in Texas to do the whole high kick thing. We did 100's of high kicks per day and our routines were dead on. We were perfectly in synch and to try out you had to be able to do a perfect jump split.

I couldn't even watch this all the way through. These girls were horrid.

I watched three minutes of that crap waiting for it to get inappropriate.  Just cause they had guys sitting in chairs doesn't make it bad.  They never got closer than 3 feet away from the guys.

People need to lighten up.  The only thing offensive there was the dancing skill and the choreography.

The most offensive thing about this video is the lack of dancing skill. I think it's funny that someone uses the terminology "PG version of a lap dance". Welcome to the world of dance. Go to a prom and you will see worse than this.

When I read the original post, I expected to see a news story of a "hot female teacher" who got drunk at a dance and started dancing provocatively with students while taking her clothes off.

Maybe I expect too much...

How could anyone stand to listen to that for more then 2 seconds? was there even music in that video?

the dancing was atrocious.....Sorry could watch more than a few seconds.....

I turned down the music.... I didn't think that lack of dancing together could be worse than the Panthers Ice Dancers, but apparently I was wrong

free drugs and free sex with no responsibility and no consequences.  If it feels good do it.  Sounds like the prevailing attitude these days.

Really?  You still hang out at HS Proms?

The difference & I'm not surprised here.   This was a school lead function with a teacher.  An adult thinking this choreographed dance was appropriate for HS girls. Not something one girl does on her own at a prom..

180 degrees different.

I have a daughter which I do not believe would embarrass herself like that in public, but if she did then she would not have made it through the dance without me escorting her off the court.  Then I would be looking for people to lose their jobs.

I think CNN is using TDMMC as a source of news as they're now covering this.

I actually have had a job where I worked as event staff for a venue so in fact proms were part of my job responsibility. I just don't see a problem with this particular dance. You called it PG but were also offended by it. I found that funny given PG is generally considered nonoffensive. Dance is made to stimulate emotion. There was no sexual contact and I wouldn't even call the moves these girls did sexually stimulating either. It was a dance. If the guys had not been in the chair would you view it any differently?

Then you have very loose morals of what young girls should be taught about self respect & not simply being a sexual object of men. It would be different also had a teacher not overseen this performance..  I will say this is a public school teacher where their performance has no bearing on their job.

You called it PG but were also offended by it. I found that funny given PG is generally considered nonoffensive. Dance is made to stimulate emotion.   I already thought it was a little to much before the guys were sitting in the chairs, the outfits were a tad on the tight & short side of things.  The girls kneeling in front of the guys in a manner in which a sexual act can be performed was over the top.

I called it a PG version because their was no sexual contact, but I could have said R rated.  There is no doubt what is being implied.

I don't see the relevance of this dance to a sports event.  This is a sign of the times, hick town v. city thing.  If the culture allows it, so be it.  Not that it's right (or wrong) but that's the way it is.

To contradict what I just wrote, that's pretty rowdy for a high school dance team but I'm old school.  Way back in the 80's our girls danced to the song "Wild Wild West" where the lyrics "give me give me safe sex" were edited.  Of course, I live in BFE so the get down on this video still wouldn't fly today.  To go along with cheerleading/dance teams being lesser than, I'm not sure our HS girls even do a dance routine anymore.  It's pretty much just about the notoriety of being a cheerleader.

If you call that an R-rated lap dance, you are completely nullifying any meaningful usage of the term "R-rated".  Fully-clothed + no physical contact = R-rated?  Have you seen an R-rated movie in the last 50 years?

That's a PG-13 "lap dance," and I'm pretty sure that those girls are at least 13.  It's in poor taste, but it's not a national outrage.

How about R-rated for high school?

Again, have you seen a PG-13 movie lately?

Good call.  Haven't seen a PG-13 movie I can think of...are people still getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly? I remember watching Fritz the Cat (1969) which was unrated when it was made.  It might garner an R-rating nowadays.

FYI: Lord of the Rings (all 3) have a PG-13 rating.
