Rules are set up pretty much like last season, with two minor changes. Instead of earned runs, we're using earned run average instead. Instead of 4 roster moves per week, it is now set at 6. The reason for the change from ER to ERA is simple...teams who were having better pitching performanes than their opponent last year often lost the ER point due to their opponent having injured players active and a subsequently lower number of innings pitched. The reason for bumping the weekly acquisition total is because several people last year made comments about having used their 4 picks for the week and then had injury issues pop up.

If there are any objections to either rule tweak, post them here so we can discuss them as a league.

Draft is set up for Saturday, March 14th at 8 PM EDT. I had to put some date in there to set it up, but if we have scheduling issues and need to change things, we have that option.

League is set up for a maximum of 12 teams. If we end up with 14 wanting in, I can reset that setting as well.

LOL...nah, I ran into that once already this season. Some cheating muthah put 5 teams into one MLB.com draft two nights ago, and the moment the draft ended, he consolidated rosters in a flurry of trading that left him with 7 of the top-10 consensus bats, and the top-2 pitching staffs.  MLB.com banned him the next day.

^^I'm not sure If I could take getting my ass kicking by you by two different teams....

Just got a stinky phone call with a no-so-stinky message. Stinkfish is getting a friend to join and round out the league, so it appears as everything is "Go" for the draft tonight at 8 PM. Draft order is set to random...look forward to seeing y'all there!

I've locked the number of teams in the league settings at 10... I had 12 as the set max, and wanted to make sure we didn't accidentally end up with 11 this afternoon and screw the proverbial draft pooch.

I got my ass summarily handed to me this week. My hitters didn't hit, my pitchers thought their job was to give hits to their opponents. We'll bounce back just fine next week, and lest folks forget, I will be getting A-Rod back healthy again in about two weeks.

Fear not for the Freakfest...

Man, when it rains, it pours. No sooner do I make the deal for Stephen Drew and he goes on the DL. Then Valverde goes on the DL, and Josh Hamilton is missing time for injuries. Add A-Rod and Carpenter to the list, and I've got a MASH unit going here early in the season.

After a 12-3-3 week and this week 10-5-3 so far, looks like i won't be able to call myself bringing up the rear. so disappointed  :(

It's a Long Season,and it's Early..I'll be slipping back to my Rightful spot of fifth place when All said in done..I fully expect AZ,to start his Reign of terror starting this week...As he's handing me ass back to me this week... ;) :D

Yeah, I saw what AZ was doing this week and thought "please, don't let that mutherfukker wake up."

I think that once I get A-Rod and Drew back, my offense will be a pretty tough match-up for any team...but my pitching will be a real concern all season.

glad i picked up Scott Downs, since he will be taken over the closer role for awhile, until Bj ryan comes back. 2 for 2 in save opportunities.

You got some great pitching early that I just couldn't make up, but at least my bats came to play this week. It's nice to have all my hitters healthy again...now I just need a couple of my DL pitchers to get back.

David Ortiz, keep him benched or drop him?  As a Sox fan I want to hold on to him because I love Ortiz but as a fantasy baseball coach I am thinking of dropping him.  Will he come out of the slump?  Will the sox send him down and drop him from the roster?

Moved to the 6th spot and I still dont see signs of him comming out of this slump any time soon?

I have Ortiz in a 12-team league that uses a DH slot, but I've had him benched for about 3 weeks now. I had a couple of other guys with DH eligibility (Aubrey Huff and Jack Cust), and I was tired of getting goose eggs from him.

I do really like the new nickname of "Big Pop-up" though. ;D

I feel guilty, B...I think my team only made one out the entire evening. Every time MLB Network cut into a game, it was to watch one of my guys rip a HR, or double down the line, or steal a base... I didn't pay for the yahoo live scsoring, so I won't see the actual numbers until tomorrow, but pretty much everyone did "something" for me tonight.

About half way through the week, I thought perhaps my team had hit rock bottom,and started acting like a competitive fantasy team...boy was I wrong..I've got 1 win from my ptichers in 2 weeks now....and that win this week was because of a blown save.....Thankfully I'm still having fun...frustrating but fun....

Now that I'm finally out of the cellar, I changed the name.  "I suck at this"..well...sucked as a name.   ;D

Damn, I think I was third in the standings at one time and had a late season collapse the New York Jets would be proud of.  Oh well, only a few more months until next season, lol.

I got lucky and got off to a hot start against Brady Bunch just as his bats cooled off. Hopefully I can hang on and move to the finals.

i lost it in the end 10-6, was tied 8-8 going into sunday, very well played Dead Like You Redux, great game.

Now i fight for the 3rd place spot against Brady bunch.

My other league i was in, i am playing in the finals. not that anyone cares about that league.

alk3hol and I are in the middle of a 2-week finals match that should be pretty tight. I have an early lead, but I know alk well enough to know that I'm in for a fight for two full weeks.

Thanks, alk...it's usually a tighter battle when we face each other in the playoffs, which is often enough that I feel comfortable saying you'll get a chance at payback next season...or probably football as well.

It's a rare thing for me, but my starting pitching was one of my biggest strengths this season. I caught a nice run of good starts early in our matchup to jump up big in those cat's and just held on through your streaming barrage late.
