I know he is old, but he is still scary.

He'll be good for like 10-15 touches per game.  The Pats need depth at RB.  They were down to their fourth stringer at the end of last season..... one big reason why they didn't get into the playoffs.

^^

Uh, the running game isn't why New England missed the playoffs last year.  While they were down to their third stringer for a couple game, the Pats were 6th in the NFL in total rushing last year.

2,278 yards and they averaged 4.4 yards per carry.

They gained almost 400 more yards than Miami did last year...and Miami made the playoffs.

New England missed the playoffs due to stupid penalties in three games that cost them field position - and a defense that couldn't stop anyone.  Not because they couldn't run the ball.  Only 5 teams in the entire league ran it better last year.

It gives them more depth and another insurance policy against Maroney. He also handles the ball very well (I think I heard something like 11 lost fumbles in 2400 carries?)

Nope.  I think it makes a good running game even better.  NE had a great running attack with their top RB on the shelf for most of the season.  I think he played in three games.  This gives them more depth and makes them much more dangerous, especially in goal line and 3rd and short situations.

So what do the Patsies do with Faulk?

Keep him.

It's Lamont Jordan that will be gone.

As a die hard Jags fan, I hope Fred Taylor can raise his status a little to get into the HOF.

Faulk will no go any where.  One of the best under rated RB that non Pats fans know about. All I will say is he is a goto RB. He's does not have crazy numbers, but he fits into the Pats play book.  I cant recall how many games it would be 3rd and 10, 4th - 20 and Falk would get it done.

Pats fans should be more worried about who was gonna play QB after TFB goes down for good.  8)
