It's another justification for my Forking over for NFL Sunday ticket!

I think I'd go nuts now if I couldn't play Fantasy football or Baseball....
I've gotten addicted.....1 year I couldn't play fantasy baseball because of things happening in my life,Baseball season wasn't the same....hmm I wonder if there are support group for fantasy withdrawl....Fantasy anonymous? :D

Title: Re: FANTASY FOOTBALL

This baseball season looks to be the first season since 2000 (baseball or football) that I don't have any involvement in fantasy.  I'm sure I'll be fine, but I don't think I'll be as interested in the late-night finish of the Giants' vs Diamondbacks on a Tuesday night.

I bought it this past year.  It was my first full season not covering the Patriots and I sat my ass on the couch every Sunday starting at 1pm and watched the "mix" channel as much as I could.  Simply put:  Heaven.

AND you can enter your freaking fantasy team into your tuner.  Every time your player does something you get a pop up message.

F'N awesome.  You need to do this.

That only works if you have only one or two teams... ;)

I love the NFL Ticket, and have ordered it every season since it became available (7 years now? 8?), and I can't imagine not having it. I also do the MLB Extra Innings package and the NBA Hardcourt package during those seasons, which means I am spending WAY too much money for my sports jones.

Ahh Maine I love that feature, but I wish it would give me injury updates...I start getting paranoid, when I'm not getting pop ups on certain players......I'm thinking of just dragging the laptop over to my couch this year....

I am actually going to go without the MLB extra package this season and ride on NESN, YES, Fox Sports West and the MLB network and see if that covers my needs...

Title: Re: FANTASY FOOTBALL

^^^ Yes...and probably more than one.

We also have at least one former paid FF writer (ESPN FFL, Draftsharks.com). ;)

Well, I'm looking for someone who would be active for a dynasty league.  ( Active meaning check in on the site & take part in the league when opinions are ask & votes are needed ) Some owners were replaced & then we started a re-draft for those owners & one of them up & quit.

Cost is only $12 Per Year.  Small prize for winning & 2nd.

If anyone would be interested let me know.

Right now they have A. Peterson & R. Wayne on their team & pick 1:01 for the rookie draft this year.

I'm seriously bad!

Actually - football wise - I do really well.  I won my money league again this year, I think it's my 5th year in a row.

Baseball?  I can't get out of my own way.

TDMMC FFL 2009 filled within 24 hrs of the initial invitations going out. Tommy, you should have gotten an invite when the rest of the league did...it was sent league-wide.

For those who weren't able to get in before this year's league filled, I'll be glad to put you on a pre-invite for next season (before current league gets re-invite), so you don't have to miss out two years in a row.

Title: Re: FANTASY FOOTBALL

I've expanded the league to 12 teams to take in the two owners who didn't get a chance to get in. If anyone has any problem with going to 12 teams, speak now or forever hold your pizza.

Topmmy, Binge...PM me with current email address and I'll get an invitation out to you.

I'm just curious as to why I didn't get an invite when they were originally sent out.  Maybe there was a glitch in the system.  Sorry you had to change the league around, Stroke.

Pats... Instead of proclaiming how fucked up it is that you're not in the league, how about just asking for an invitation?

StL...check your messages.

Tommy... I can't push the draft back any further on that night. If you think you may be a few minutes late, I'd make sure you've set at least the top of your draft list just in case.

Title: Re: FANTASY FOOTBALL

I've expanded the league to 14 teams, making it the largest TDMMC FF league ever. One of the last two slots goes to StL...  Pats, if you want the final slot, you need to PM me with your email address before someone else pops up and takes it. ;)

I have still not recovered from my Rookie year in fantasy, when I did probably the worst job by a fantasy owner in the history of fantasy football, and thus, my team missed the playoffs thanks to a last week loss against AZ fin fan.

A year older, much wiser, and much more determined, I return for my second go-round.

Actually we played with 14 teams in 2007 if I recall correctly.

For a rookie, you did an excellent job.  You came very close to making the playoffs, the same can't be said for some other teams.

Additionally, you didn't fall for my trickery when I told you the most important position in Fantasy Football is kicker.

Yeah, but given all the talent I had to work with, (plus I had the first pick) I should have waltzed to the championship.

Title: Re: FANTASY FOOTBALL
Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 02, 2009, 09:32:06 pm
The first pick doesn't always perform up to expectations.  Additionally, there's a lot more than talent involved in playing fantasy football.  You have to factor in what team each player is up against, is he coming off an injury, are they playing in inclement weather, ect.....

I had to work at that day and time.

So I had my players ranked (althought that shit never works the way you really want it to) and Yahoo picked for me.  Can't say that I'm too bummed.  I predict that my success will depend mostly on what Cutler does in Chi-town.  Believe me, I'm not holding my breath but I wouldn't count me out for the playoff hunt this year.

Wow, AP goes off on one, but Stroke will probably lose because Drew Brees went of on an even bigger one.

The Narcissism is definately justified when you don't start an active QB but score 35 on Defense to win by one point!

I'm trailing by 8 with three to go but he's got 2, it should be close......oh and I have a 30 pt QB on my bench :)

I admit, I over analyse the pis out of each match up....And you're at a bit of a disadvantage being Hours ahead of us...Tough Call, Willie Parker being ruled out fairly early,Mendenhall was proably gonna get the bulk of the work (My luck he would have gotten hurt the second play of the game Lol  :D)....Having both RB's playing in the same game, I'd wait till the last minute to make the call, but Like Steelers running on San Diego's Defense, over San Deigo running on Pittsburgh defense.....

Yeah, I was in the pub with the university football team I coach with watching the early game, but I didn't see the end of the second round of games and I was a few beers to the good by the time I got back. There's no way I can watch the late game with work the next day.

^ Games that late would be awesome....out at bars getting smashed and watching games live!  It's not the same when it's 10 a.m. like it is here.  I'm having breakfast and half my friends are still asleep that early.

I'm off to buy a lottery ticket.... :P
People I feel bad for tonight....
AZ,for leaving Austin Collie on his bench after he went for 250 and 2tds....
Stroke, for his Niners getting pasted....
Uk,For the career day of Roddy White pretty much saved my backside.....

My Team is so Paranoid of the end zone,it's nice to see them wake up occasionally...Good luck Uk,I'll probably score 40 points next week to even out my scoring.... :D

I don't really know what I have to do to win a game, short of drafting all over again :) I have two decent QB's who only have good weeks when I bench them, a bunch of running backs who either get yards or TD's but rarely both. I have one star receiver who does the same and a bunch of #3 guys who rarely do anything.

Both Romo and Flacco are on the trading block, someone out there needs an improvement, make me an offer :)

Scores obviously range based on each league's scoring st, active roster slots, number of teams in your league, etc... I've been in leagues where an 80 score was awesome, and leagues where popping a 150 means your ass is getting beat badly.

One garbage time run from Ray Rice and I lose fantasy by 1 point.  It's been that kind of a season for the 4lifers.  I was hoping to win my last 4 games and play spoiler.  I will go for 3 out of 4 this week against stinkfish, who demolished me by 50 points in Week 1.

Title: Re: 2009 TDMMC Fantasy Football
Post by: Sunstroke on December 11, 2009, 03:27:47 pm

That Ray Rice miracle saved me from my own idiocy. I had changed Carney out of the K slots of the other teams I had him on, but left him active in this league. It almost cost me a win...

I felt your pain though...I've lost 1 pointers on garbage time stats, and it is not a pleasant thing at all.

^^^ Next year you shock the world and make the playoffs...I'm calling it now.

Interesting first round matchup...Redzone Freakfest vs Return to Glory, in an "immediate rematch" of the regular season finale, in which we battled to a 130-130 shootout tie. I'm not sure we will top the Over on that one, but I still expect a high scoring affair.

Those frisky St Louis Stallions pretty much have their side wrapped up, as Hoodie is done and they just need 1 point from Steve Smith.

The tie on the other side will be a fight though... Return to Glory (Kurt) has the Giants-D and I have the Giants TE, Kevin Boss. We finished the regular season off with a monster 130-130 tie, so no surprise to see us battling down to the final player in the playoffs.

Good stuff...this is what makes the game so damned fun.
