I don't get the hype sorrounding Mark Sanchez. He had one good year in college and know he's the second coming. Go back at look at his performances this year on the road against mediorce oppnents, not very impressive. USC with the talent they have should've been averaging 50 pts per game. He goes thru strecthes in games where he's highly inconsistent. Sanchez is lucky Sam Bradford decided to stay in school or he wouldn't be receiving this much hype.

I'm more impressed with Josh Freeman. He's more of a physical presence and showed the ability to rally his team when they were behind in games and dosen't play with a bunch of 5 star high school all-americans.

Vernon Gholston was my pick last year as the most over-rated player, this year is sanchez. I just haven't seen enough to warrant this much attention.

Tyson Jackson at #3 to the chiefs, are you kiddding me? This guy is a mid first round pick at best and you're REACHING for him. I knew someone would screw up, but this early. Terrible selection if this is indeed the case.

There's also the very real chance he'll drop out of the top 10. Maybe not having a camera in his face CONSTANTLY would be a nice thing if that were to happen.

^^^ amen to that. I liked that Joe Thomas was on a boat fishing with his dad when he was selected, and think the same thing about Sanchez being in a quiet place with friends and family.

I'd have to know more about the players involved. In terms of "draft value points", there's no question the swap of 1st rounders + a mid 2nd is really cheap.

No idea which way the Bills will go. They have a huge need at tackle, so Oher is one obvious candidate, but their pass rush and defensive line in general needs some major upgrading as well. Orakpo or Everette Brown, maybe?

Whoaaaaaa.... Denver Broncos grab Knowshon Moreno.  I love the guy, but I was thinking DE for sure at that spot.  Moreno immediately becomes the best RB on their roster, but what did they sacrifice from their defense there?

Redskins pick #13: Brian Orakpo, DE

  They lost out on Orakpo, that's what happened.  Broncos suck.

The BRONCOS spend a  first rounder on a running back? Truly things have changed since they just plugged in some guy off the street for 1000+ yards.

Maybe, just maybe, they should look at upgrading their line. Ahhh well...

And Washington makes the pick I though Denver would: Orakpo.

And, according to Orakpo, the first thing he is gonna buy is a really big bed so he can watch the festivities.

Oher has slid quite a bit from where I thought he'd go. Does his slide stop with the Saints, who need all the help they can in the running game and had Denver pick the best running back of the draft?

Saints go CB with Malcolm Jenkins. Guess their faith in Darren Sharper is less than absolute.

According to NFL Net, Sharper's a safety.

Larry English is a great pick by the Bolts. They could have used Oher, but English has "elite pass rusher" as his celing, and could step in and contribute immediately.

The only explaination is that they thought the Broncos would get him.

Bucs trade up to grab QB Freeman. Were they really that afraid the Broncos would pick him? Strange pick, even stranger trade for it.

  The Bucs could've nabbed Freeman at their original spot.

This is the first time ever the Broncos have taken two picks in the first round.

Can't believe how far all the WR's have dropped in the draft...Crabtree at #10? (congrats on that stroke...helluva steal.)  I thought Maclin was going to be a top 10-15 pick.

No argument on the O-line, but Detroit does have another pick coming up soon, and a few other good OTs on the board still. Pettigrew was the "only" to level combo TE in this year's class.  I expected OT, but am not really shocked with the TE pick.

Patsies net two more third round picks by trading down out of the first round...looks like great trade-downs from NE, as much as it pains me to say it.

The Patriots traded the 26th overall pick and the and the fifth-round pick they acquired earlier today (162) and received pick 41 (second round), pick 72 (third round) and pick 83 (third round).

This gives the Patriots 13 overall selections in this year's draft.

This was a good deal for both sides.  Cleveland picks up an extra pick today and three players, two of who could start immediately. 

Cleveland stockpiled picks today.  Considering they didn't have that many to start with, they restocked their cupboard quick.

At 3 hours, 23 minutes, this was the fastest first round since 1990.

There were 25 picks in the first round in 1990.

Well the Giants took the guy I was hoping..Ramses Barden...Stroke got my thinking about him, we talked about him a few times on FinsRadio

NE now has three 2010 2nd rounders.  Own, Jax, Titans. 

Yeah, and next draft class should offer up some very talented players in the second round, so NE is looking good for 2010.

The team that I think has smoked this draft like a fine cuban cigar...the New York Football Giants. Every one of their picks are guys that I feel will be outstanding NFL players, from Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden as their new WRs (Eli has to have a full blown chubby right now), to Beatty on the O-line (still more chubby for Eli) and Sintim as an edge pass rusher. A+ for the Gmen for sure.

Add Cincinnati to the list of awesome drafts...They just got Jonathan Luigs in round four, a guy who should be an outstanding NFL center for the next decade or so to go with Maualuga, Andre Smith, Michael Johnson and Chase Coffman. That's solid as all hell there.
