Title: Who else is happy that Favre is back? Post by: Dave Gray on August 20, 2009, 01:16:48 pm I love the circus and all the talk about it.
The Vikings don't scare me, we don't have to even play them, and it makes all of the cable sports shows funny now. I don't see why everyone (outside of Packers fans) is so bent. I don't care about him or his drama one way or another, but since I don't care, I don't want to be bombarded by Favre stories every time I turn the TV to ESPN

I don't care about him or his drama one way or another, but since I don't care, I don't want to be bombarded by Favre stories every time I turn the TV to ESPN that pretty much sums it up. He's mis-using the word "retire." Retirement doesn't mean "take a break for a month so I don't have to go to training camp." And I'm sick of the up-to-the-second Favre-watch on ESPN and NFL Network.I can't see how you get enjoyment out of this misery... Title: Re: Who else is happy that Favre is back? Post by: Dave Gray on August 20, 2009, 01:53:35 pm Look how much fun we're having talking about, all the funny pictures of Favre with sashes on, the fumbles records, etc. That would just be gone and it would be another boring preseason.

Title: Re: Who else is happy that Favre is back? Post by: BigDaddyFin on August 20, 2009, 03:22:53 pm I wouldn't call it fun, Dave. I for one am pretty upset that yet another team would get suckered into his crap. He's not even that good. It sucks up time on even news shows that they must report on Brett Faver. Forget the healthcare debate or the war in Afghanistan (I don't want to get into a discussion of either here, but I'm trying to illustrate my point), we have to waste 20 minutes in the middle of the news to hear somebody talk about how any team + Faver = Superbowl contender, and the guy hasn't won anything in almost 15 years.

And in other news, Farve awoke at 7:45 am this morning. He did his shit/shower/shave routine, then joined his teammates in the Vikings training camp cafeteria for a heavy southern style breakfast. Farve tends to favor real maple syrup on his pancakes. Title: Re: Who else is happy that Favre is back? Post by: BigDaddyFin on August 20, 2009, 03:44:12 pm Exactly, Tommy. We also have to listen to their endless caterwalling about how he plays like a little kid. If I played like that, I doubt I'd last more than 7 seconds in the NFL. At least Madden won't be around to suck up to him every time he takes a breath, we'll have to see who the new Faver suckup is among the commentators, right now I think NFL Network has some serious candidates.

Last season, Favre had 22 TD's and 22 INT's. He led the league in interceptions. He had the most interceptions in a season since 2006 (not to mention his 29 picks he threw in 2005 are the most in a season since 1988). Any other QB not named Favre who posted these numbers would get benched. Yet, for some reason, everyone thinks Favre is awesome. Someone tell me why? Title: Re: Who else is happy that Favre is back? With Farve back, Madden just might get his second wind and come back to broadcasting. Title: Re: Who else is happy that Favre is back? When Faver throws 4 picks in a game nobody's upset, they just shrug their shoulders and go oh well it's Berty being Berty. |
