Title: Matt Cassel injured Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 30, 2009, 01:45:12 pm It looks serious enough..... if he gets put on IR, there goes the Chief's season.

Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on August 30, 2009, 01:48:24 pm ^^^^
There are a couple of teams out there that I would predict to be vastly improved from last year. The Chiefs are one of them. Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Pats2006 on August 30, 2009, 08:36:25 pm Thats to bad, hope its just a sore knee! :-\
Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Tenshot13 on August 31, 2009, 12:35:36 am If you ask me, Tyler Thigpen is just as good, if not better than Cassel...the Chiefs will be fine...well as fine as a sub par .500 team can be.
Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Brian Fein on August 31, 2009, 09:20:39 am Cassel going down is the best thing that could happen to the Chiefs. He is horribly overrated.
Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: fyo on August 31, 2009, 09:48:11 am Cassel "just" sprained his MCL. He'll be back in 2-4 weeks.
In other words, he could be ready for the season opener against Baltimore - although they might want to just chalk that game up as an "L" and spare Cassel. Oakland is up the following week and that seems like a good game to toss Cassel back in. That defense has been known to chew up QB's and spit 'em out. Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Denver_Bronco on September 02, 2009, 08:17:03 pm Worth every penny! ;D

Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Denver_Bronco on September 03, 2009, 07:27:40 am Says the man in the Kyle Orton jersey... Alex Smith, anyone? LMAO!Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Sunstroke on September 03, 2009, 09:11:55 am ^^^ That's the kind of comment I expect from someone who doesn't watch any football outside of Sportscenter highlights... the 49ers starter last year and this year is Shaun Hill. Right. We all know this. The point is that at least the Broncos have a starter, albeit horrible in Orton, 3 draft picks to go with it, while the 9ers have a number one overall draft pick that raped them for millions and all the have to show for it is the splinters in his ass from riding the pine and pocket lint.Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 03, 2009, 11:46:35 am Right. Three draft picks and NO GUARANTEE that they will find a franchise QB like Jay Cutler. And now their star receiver wants out as well. Fine mess Josh Daniels has gotten himself into, alienating the core players on his team. What he is doing is getting rid of the "me first" players and the pre-madonas. You can't call it a mess until you see what the finished product is. They haven't even played a game yet.By the way, there will be about 4 or 5 franchise QB's coming out in next years draft, and they will be fully loaded to choose whichever one they want. The point is that at least the Broncos have a starter, albeit horrible in Orton As long as you realize he sucks much worse than either our starter or our backup, you haven't fallen too far down the well of insanity. Orton will be under center only as long as it takes for the Broncos to get a real QB and make up for the mistake of getting rid of the best QB they've had since Elway retired. (don't EVEN bring up Jake) He isn't alienating anyone. What he is doing is getting rid of the "me first" players and the pre-madonas. Are there post-madonas out there? (it's "primadona") Josh McDaniels is an egomaniacal tool...and like every other nut that fell out of Belichick's coaching tree, McDaniel will fall flat on his face. (edited for typo) Title: Re: Matt Cassel injured Post by: Denver_Bronco on September 03, 2009, 12:26:53 pm Josh McDaniels is an egomaniacal tool...and like every other nut that fell out of Belichick's coaching tree, McDaniel will fall flat on his face. (edited for typo) He cannot let the players dictate how the team is run the way that Wade Phillips does in Dallas. That works out really well, doesn't it? |
