Title: Fire These Coaches TODAY!
Post by: jtex316 on September 14, 2009, 01:42:25 pm
Week 1 of the NFL season hasn't even ended yet, and I already think that the following 5 coaches should be fired instantly:

1. Marvin Lewis - It seems that every single year I am asking for Marvin Lewis to be given his walking papers, and for some strange reason, he's still the coach of the team. YOU HAD TO KNOW that the Bengals were somehow, someway going to find a way to lose yesterday, and BOOM, it happened. Their season has again officially ended and for another season, Marvin Lewis gets paid. He is the worst NFL head coach and I cannot believe he is still employed. Please Cincinnati, fire Marvin Lewis once and for all.

2. Lovie Smith - He is just far too soft and nice to be an NFL head coach, especially for the Bears. The Bears, BTW, have already lost the season with Urlacher gone and Jay Cutler being a complete and total Erik Krammer / Rex Grossman / Peter Tom Willis hack bum QB. Lovie Smith - please retire.

3. Dick Jaroun - YES, I know, he hasn't even played his 1st game of the season at the time of this post! But why F around? Dick Jaroun is bad, out-of-date, and out of touch. Do you seriously expect his team to do anything at all? You might as well get rid of this ass-clown before anything even starts, because you know already for a fact that they aren't going to do anything anyways so why bother?

4. Jack Del Rio - Season after Season, your team is supposed to be "on the rise" and great. Yet season after season, your team sucks. Time for a new start in JAX.

5. Gary Kubiak - Same thing goes for Kubiak as it did for Del Rio. Houston got embarrased at home against a rookie head coach and a rookie QB. That is just not acceptable when you have the #1 overall pick at DE, the top WR in the league and a rising star in Steve Slaton.

Nice rant...but I'm not 100% certain you'd recognize a quality NFL coach if one popped his head out your ass and blew his whistle.

I thought Tommy would have started this thread.

When I saw the subject line, I thought it was Tommy as well...

Apparently Joe's MAS (massive angst syndrome) is getting worse.

Hey want about Saprano?  It pretty obvious he is going thru the sophmore slump.  Fire him and have the Dolphins avoid that.

3-5 i agree with. Kubiak especially. I'm tired of hearing about the texans being the suprise team over the last 2-3 years. The effort yesterday was terrible for an home opener.

After watching the Bills give away a game they dominated up until the last three minutes of the 4th quarter, I'd put Dicksucker Jauron on the top of that list.

Can't bust the coach for that moron returner who was trying to be a hero.

Marvin Lewis coaches in Cincy.  Nobody wins in Cincy unless their name is Forrest Gregg.  They might as well sign him or whoever they replace him with to a lifetime contract because it's not really going to get any better.

Dick Jauron in Buffalo?  Same thing.  They don't want to pay much to their coaches in salary so they deserve whatever they get.  The fact that he hasn't been fired already speaks volumes.  Instead they fired the offensive coordinator.

Lovie Smith should have been fired 4 seconds after he let them run Rex Grossman out of town and then didn't make the playoffs.  Apparently the whole reason that team didn't win at the time was Rex Grossman.  No more Rex Grossman and they're still not winning.  Clearly it wasn't the quarterback.

Jack Del Rio?  Coaches have been fired for a lot less, coaches haven't gotten fired even though they did less (see Dick Jauron).

Gary Kubiak?  Kind of in the same boat as Del Rio and Lovie Smith.  If the Texans don't win this year, it's because of Matt Schaub according to NFL network and Inside the NFL.  I don't buy it, but that's going to be the bullshit storyline.

It doesn't matter whether I'd be able to recognize a quality NFL coach if one popped out of my ass and blew his whistle...I'd be pretty close though after eliminating all non-quality bum NFL coaches and picking the ones that are left.

I hope the Bills keep Jauron forever because it gives us that much more of a chance to win.  The Bills should have lit us up for 400 passing.  Norv Turner and Wade Phillips should never have gotten as many chances as they have.  If either of their teams can't win two playoff games at a minimum they should get the boot.

LOL.... But you to admit he is right about Dick Jauron, Jack Del Rio, Marv lewis and Gary Kubiak.  There are many coaches that need their walking papers,  due to their style of coaching being to old fashion, its time to see some new blood coming into the NFL.  Im tired of seeing the same old plays year in and out.

Bump......I expect Jim Zorn to be fired before Sunrise Monday Morning. Jeff fisher is a well respected coach and he's the longest tenured coached in the NFL, but his team is not even competing. The pats are up 24-0 as we speak and his team seems lifeless. He track record will probably save him, but i wouldnt be shocked if the titans can him at the end of the season.

^^^^^

I wouldn't be either.  After this shellacking by the Pats, it's safe to say he will be given his walking papers at the end of the season.

So the five coaches for this year that are on the firing list would be

Dick Jauron
Jack Del Rio

Jeff Fisher- Tennesee hasn't done shit in awhile now, plus there's the whole Vince Young debacle.  15 years as coach is too long with only 1 superbowl appearance to show for it.

Jim Zorn- Looks like a child frustrated by "Where's Waldo?"  Not really his fault that Washington sucks, but he'll end up getting the criticism for it.

John Fox- 1 Superbowl appearance in like 10 years.  Fox is a good coach, but is he just getting stale in NC?

I think part of the reason Fisher gets fired is owners have a bonner for new coaches with the recent success rookie coaches are having.  The Tennessee situation smells of Denver last year.

The difference is, Denver was contending for the playoffs and led the division all season, only to choke it away on the last day of the season.  Tennessee just flat out sucks.... although it wouldn't surprise me for them to start Vince Young the rest of the way and end up coming out with 5 or 6 wins.  That still wouldn't be enough for Fisher to keep his job.

Maybe Denver last year was a bad example.  What I should have said is they have a coach that has been there forever and at least wearing a flak jacket if not bulletproof.

You think Vince could get them 5 or 6 wins, Tommy?

He could.  He just might be the jumpstart this offense needs.  He kicked ass as a rookie but regressed the following year.  Maybe he's matured after riding the pine.

That defense is what's killing me.  Looking at their schedule I think they could pull off five.  This seems to be a real "any given Sunday" year as it is.

No he didn't. People were just enamored by him for some reason. Colston should have been rookie of the year easily. He has always been average at best in the NFL.
