Title: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Defense54 on September 20, 2009, 06:36:47 pm I was really hoping for one of the Brady 2 minute comebacks against the Jets today. Didn't happen. Anyone who doesn't think TFB hasn't lost a step is nuts. Goddamn Jets!!!! >:(

Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Denver_Bronco on September 20, 2009, 07:26:07 pm Lack of Wes Welker killed them. Thats the reason they lost today.
Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: stinkfish on September 20, 2009, 07:50:07 pm You were rooting for the patsies?

But Jets fans hate the Pats more. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: raptorsfan29 on September 20, 2009, 08:46:57 pm Dolphins fans hate the pats more. corrected it for you. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 20, 2009, 08:56:52 pm corrected it for you. <BUZZ> Sorry Raptor, wrong guess. Wanna try for Double Jeopardy where the score can really change? Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Tenshot13 on September 20, 2009, 09:02:31 pm I hate them both more.
Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 20, 2009, 09:11:16 pm Funny thing is, Dolphins fans hate the Jets more. But Jets fans hate the Pats more. Depends on their age. Many older Jets fans actually hate you guys more, but all the younger Jets fans hate Pats more. But back to the topic..... Tom Brady is playing like Manning did the first few games of last year....and that ain't a complement to either of them. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 20, 2009, 09:12:22 pm Depends on their age. Many older Jets fans actually hate you guys more, but all the younger Jets fans hate Pats more. You think it would be the other way around, as the Jets-Pats rivalry goes back a LONG way..... long before the Dolphins existed. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: stinkfish on September 20, 2009, 10:29:54 pm Funny thing is, Dolphins fans hate the Jets more. But Jets fans hate the Pats more. Not me man. I hate the Patsies more than any other team.Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: StL FinFan on September 20, 2009, 10:37:12 pm ^ I also hate the Patriots more than I hate the Jets right now.
Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Defense54 on September 20, 2009, 11:11:47 pm You were rooting for the patsies? Don't forget I lived and grew up in NYC. I couldn't put a Dolphins License plate holder on my car without getting the tires stabbed or the doors Keyed. I've been to the games at Shea stadium as well as Giants stadium and never met a more obnoxious fanbase in my life. I hate the Green more then I love the Phins. If the Jets get a Superbowl before we do I will be Pissed.......... >:( Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on September 21, 2009, 12:50:39 am I still hate the fucking Jets more. Ever since that Monday night game...ugh.
Although it's like picking having a fever or explosive diarreah, they both really suck. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: David Fulcher on September 21, 2009, 11:33:08 am Not me man. I hate the Patsies more than any other team. ^ I also hate the Patriots more than I hate the Jets right now. Not me. Agreed with above...don't get me wrong, like any Dolphins fan worth his salt, I do hate those stinkin' Jets, and if I'd had some of the experiences like Defense has had, I probably would hate them more than any team without another team even within distance of them, but when I became a Dolphins fan back in '92 (I didn't like anybody else before then, I was only 8 years old), the Bills were easily the team to hate, and even though they slacked off by the early 2000's, I probably hated them the most up until that point. Still, Billy B., Brady, and the boys a.k.a. "piles of **** from Massachusetts" had no problem leapfrogging the Bills and Jets in my book following the 2001 season...and it's only gotten worse since then, for obvious reasons. I'd say I hate the Jets more than the Bills at this point, but the Pats still take the cake. Who'da thunk that the Bills would be my least hated team of the 3 all these years later? :-\ Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: dolfan13 on September 21, 2009, 12:13:05 pm everyone knows the type of injury brady is recovering from takes some time to heal from. now is not an ideal time to have welker out of the lineup either. i wouldn't bet against the pats in the second half of this season though. that offense is going to take some time to get rolling again, but they will get it going...
i think the pats biggest problem right now is lack of a running game and the defense looks real bad. having a stout running game makes things soooo much easier for the quarterback. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Dave Gray on September 21, 2009, 03:36:17 pm TFB isn't as crisp as he's been in the past, but he still looks pretty good. He's throwing off his back foot a little more, which is costing him some accuracy and speed.
I think that this will come back throughout the season. He got pressured a lot vs. the Jets (no sacks, though, I don't think), which he's also not used to dealing with. The protection isn't what it was. Also, they couldn't get Moss involved. It was just a bad night for the Pats. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Brian Fein on September 21, 2009, 03:41:03 pm ^^^ that's all because of the pressure. The Jets said all week that they were gonna bring the house. They did just that. It makes Brady get rid of it faster, which causes inaccuracy. It pretty much takes away the deep ball cause Moss has no time to run that far since he has precisely 2 seconds to release the ball. The pressure also makes him throw off his back foot while backpedaling.
We've all seen, even in 2007, that blitzing Brady is the way to beat the Pats. In the past, teams came out blitzing and gave it up by halftime. The Jets just never backed down. Give Brady time, and he'll kill you every day. The only way to rattle him is to put guys in his face EVERY play. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: Sunstroke on September 21, 2009, 04:07:20 pm I've been saying this for a while now, but the Jets really scare me. They're younger, stronger and hungrier than New England right now, and I believe they finally have that intangible "leadership" aspect at the two most important positions for that sort of thing (HC and QB) that they haven't had in the past. Title: Re: Tom Brady let me down......... Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 21, 2009, 05:27:38 pm I've been saying this for a while now, but the Jets really scare me. They're younger, stronger and hungrier than New England right now, and I believe they finally have that intangible "leadership" aspect at the two most important positions for that sort of thing (HC and QB) that they haven't had in the past. The Jets have a solid team. Sanchez and Ryan were two great pick ups for the Jets. I expect them to be contenders both in the long and short term. Jets biggest potential problems at this point is Sanchez has never thrown a football in temps below 50. How will he handle it? -- we should know in a couple of months. And while the Jets (like in most years) have a very solid 1-22 they are weak on depth, which often detrails their ability to win late in the season. As for the Patriots this year, Brady right now looks a lot like Peyton Manning did the first few games of the season last year. That wasn't meant as a complement of either of them. If Brady can shake off the rust and get his timing back and when Welker comes back the offense should be as dominant as ever. As for the Patriots long term and being "old". Over the next two drafts, the Patriots have seven 1st and 2nd round picks. Reloading is not going to be an issue. But the days of 2007 are over. This isn't gonna be a division where we know who won it, week 10 of the season. Its gonna go down to the 17th week. |
