Title: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: raptorsfan29 on October 18, 2009, 05:30:46 pm They were a good team last year and have fallen big time this year.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: gocowboys31 on October 18, 2009, 05:34:48 pm Still no big play threat at WR and their defense has been horrible. Teams are running on them without Haynesworth and they've suffered numerous injuries in the secondary. When you win 13 games in this league you better take advantage, because nothing is promised in future years.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: fyo on October 18, 2009, 05:51:21 pm Give me ONE good reason the Patriots haven't already pulled Brady. He's thrown 4 touchdowns and still has a few chances to make it 5... IN THE FIRST HALF. The Titans haven't scored. Up by 38, why risk your star quarterback?
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: raptorsfan29 on October 18, 2009, 05:54:21 pm because Bill B is a classless piece of (you know). And he always wants to run up the score beat someone by 70. The usual.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: fyo on October 18, 2009, 05:54:57 pm And 5 it is.
45 - nothing Patriots. If Bellicheat sends out Brady after halftime, he's just asking for trouble. Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? But he's already done the "run it up" season. Too late to make a significant run at any of those records this year -- and the team probably isn't quite good enough. Why not make sure your players are ready next week? Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: raptorsfan29 on October 18, 2009, 06:06:59 pm i did think the phins-Titans matchup this season was going to be a good game, but now i am thinking it's going to be a bloodbath.

The way Brady has been playing in his past games Bill wants Brady to get his rhythm back why not. I think Brady will play the 1st series in the 3rd then pull him. Well, he certainly played the first (and threw another touchdown)... an got hit for a roughing the passer... how many more shots at your quarterback are you going to allow, Bellicheat? Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: fyo on October 18, 2009, 06:31:12 pm Okay, so Brady is watching from the sidelines now.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: fyo on October 18, 2009, 07:41:04 pm What's the worst stat line ever for a quarterback playing, more or less, a full game?
2 of 12 for -7 yards and an interception. (and a couple of fumbles, for good measure). HOLY CRAP Seriously, Vince Young CANNOT be worse. Take a knee every passing down and -7 yards is about what you'd expect on 12 passing downs. At least there wouldn't be the interception. Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: ethurst22 on October 18, 2009, 08:56:30 pm I like Jeff Fisher but I think he is toast this year. He's been there for 15 years and I think Bud Adams will make a change.

Post by: SportsChick on October 19, 2009, 09:10:39 am Funny thing about that. I grew up about 20 miles from Foxborough. There was zero snow in my hometown when I called my bio-dad. He said they had lots of rain but no snow.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: gocowboys31 on October 19, 2009, 12:08:43 pm My question is How do any of the titans players go collect paychecks after that gutless performance. Bud Adams and those players should be delivering free pizza's to all titans season ticket holders. That was an utter disgrace yesterday.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: Dave Gray on October 20, 2009, 02:10:26 am I always thought that Tennessee would turn it around to be a middle of the road team by the year's end, but I think they've just fallen too far. It's not even their record, but it's that they look so terrible and ineffective.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: jtex316 on October 22, 2009, 03:12:14 pm Maybe them being 13-3 last year was a fluke and them going 0-6 is more representative of their team's true skills.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on October 22, 2009, 04:50:47 pm Maybe them being 13-3 last year was a fluke and them going 0-6 is more representative of their team's true skills. This made me think of something. They started off the 2008 season 10-0, but since getting embarassed by the Jets, they went 3-4, including a heartbreaking home loss in the playoffs to Baltimore to end their season. This season could very well be a "hangover" from that. The loss of Albert Haynesworth on their D-line and an injury depleted secondary doesn't help matters much. Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 02, 2009, 08:02:24 am Looks like starting Vince Young gave them the spark they needed. If they play the rest of the way the same way they mauled the Jags today, I'd be worried when the Dolphins visit Nashville.
Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: ethurst22 on November 02, 2009, 03:45:43 pm The difference is that Vince Young can buy time with his feet. Collins can't. He's always been a statue (a la Drew Bledsoe) in the pocket.
I suspect that Jeff Fisher will be gone next year. Whenever the owner makes the switch to the backup quarterback and the guy wins like he did, that's not good for your head coach at all. I think Fisher has lost some credibility with his players, especially after the Kearse situation. If it was Bill Walsh, Don Shula or Bill Parcells, Kearse would have been looking for a job the next day. Plus, Tennessee has decent receivers with speed but its the same old Frank Wycheck offense. Substitute Chris Johnson for Eddie George and look for TE Bo (I can't spell his last name) on third down as your first option most of the time. Jeff Fisher is a standup guy but everyone has their time in the sun and I think his is over. Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: ethurst22 on November 02, 2009, 05:43:38 pm What happened with Jevon Kearse? On game day, Kearse got to the stadium and was told that he would be one of the inactives for the game. After being told, he got in his car and went home. He disappeared. Instead of Fisher suspending him or fining him, from what I understand, nothing was done at all and I think Kearse suited up next week. Someone posted a caption of the situation on the board here but I forgot who it was. Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Title: Re: What happened to Tennesse? Post by: ethurst22 on November 03, 2009, 02:08:35 am I'm not excusing Kearse's behavior, but since when do you inactivate your star DE for a game?? Kearse is not the same person he was when he first came into the league. He is being outplayed by his backup in Tennessee and that's what prompter Fisher to make the move. Kearse let two and a half years of fame go to his head. He flamed out in Philly. He was even benched in Philly before he signed on as a FA with the Titans. I saw the first game against Pitt and a few other games and Kearse was being held up at the line of scrimmage. He was never really a run stopper but he was stinkin up the joint. My brother knows his cousin and he says that Kearse spends most of his time partying and chasing women. That's sad because if Kearse would have stayed on a dedicated path, he would have been a sure fire HOF. |
