Title: Tom Brady makes history
Post by: Pats2006 on October 18, 2009, 05:56:18 pm
5 TD's in 1 QTR.

Tom Brady looks like his old self.  I know Tenesse sucks but Brady is on point throwing perfect passes.

345 yards 5 TD's

Pats2006,

My grandmother could have hit 5TD passes on the Titans. The Titans MIGHT go 0-16 the way that they are playing. They already have their tee times for the end of the season.

Steve Grogan is the best Patriot QB of all time. Hands down. NE just didn't build a system around him at all and got rid of all world tight end Russ Francis at a time when they were primed to go to the SB in the 70's.

Brady is lucky. Let me count the ways...

The 'tuck rule". The worst call in sports history
Ty Laws interception return against the Rams. He should have been MVP
Stupid trades with the Raiders landing Randy Moss in NE.

I can go on and on. Montana is still the best QB.

In all fairness, ethurst, I didn't see Pats saying Brady is the best QB of all time..... although I'm sure that he thinks that way, seeing as he views the world through purple and red glasses.

Interesting bit of trivia.......

Hoyer played for more mins in that game than Peyton Manning did in the game against the Dolphins.

Brady has stayed consistent throughout, and has become more than just a 2nd string "game manager" on a great team. And with every changing year, New England has stayed one of the league's elite for a reason. My guess is that it's not just luck. You're supposed to build around your star player, and surround him with the best talent available. And it's the QB's job to exceed with the given circumstances and help the team win (which Brady has proven).

The whole Cassel argument should be null (even though he played well) the guy came into a pretty good situation last year as the Patriots, like Miami, played a weak AFC and NFC West (with the exception of Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, both lossess). Or you can look at Cassel like Hostetler coming in for Simms,  or Earl Morrall coming in for Griese.

Here's a list of some of the worst calls in sports history: http://espn.go.com/page2/s/list/worstcalls/010730.html
Granted, "the tuck" was a horrible call, but the call didn't exactly win them the Super Bowl.

Oh, and was Aikman lucky with the Dallas/Minnesota trade?

Brady is starting to get hot.  I don't think he or the Pats have been on the same level as in recent years, but they get it done.  I'm a little worried Brady will start lighting it up week-in and week-out.

While there is no doubt the Bucs are ripe for a 400-yd beat down I think they'll be assisted by a poor playing surface at Wembley.  What I remember most from those games in England is the field was horrid.
