Title: Your favorite class in school Post by: Dave Gray on October 26, 2009, 02:23:24 pm In elementary school, my favorite class was this thing called the gifted program. We got to do these logic puzzles that were sort of like the game "Clue". They'd give you a few facts and then you had to decipher from there who killed who, where, and with what.... Here is an example, although this one looks considerably harder than the ones I used to do as a kid: http://www.braingle.com/brainteasers/41875/murder-at-brainteaser-mansion-3.html
In middle school, I took a class called rocketry, where the only academic part of it was writing a report on something related to space, and the rest was building and launching model rockets with the class. That was awesome, and I'm surprised that the school took on the liability. In high school, my favorite class was Physics. When I was in community college, I took an awesome class called "Drug Education". The teacher was really cool and it wasn't a "drugs are bad" course. Instead, it was just honest talk about drugs and what they do, how they work, their history, etc. His brother, then a teacher as well, was a heroin addict who came in and told some pretty wicked stories. And finally, at university, I think my favorite class was Statistics. Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Phishfan on October 26, 2009, 02:31:12 pm History was my favorite class. It didn't matter what level I was in school.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Sunstroke on October 26, 2009, 02:46:33 pm We didn't have any "gifted" programs when I was in elementary school. I was bored to tears for 1st and 2nd grade, jumped over 3rd to 4th, where I felt like an outcast. My favorite classes at any level were those for English or creative writing. I used to really like physical science class as a kid, but that interest went away after a while. Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: MaineDolFan on October 26, 2009, 03:14:25 pm I actually hated school until I entered college. Each degree I had one class that I enjoyed more than any other.
B.A. in English my favorite class, hands down, was African American Literature, 1930-1970. It was one of the last courses I took, a high 300. Communication B.S. - Nonverbal Communication. BSRN - Philosophy and Theories of Nursing. MSN - Trauma, Toxicologic, and Environmental Emergencies. Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: bsmooth on October 26, 2009, 03:22:24 pm Pretty much any history class.
I have a soft spot for philosophy and creative writing Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Brian Fein on October 26, 2009, 04:24:21 pm Physics was, is, and always will be my favorite class or subject.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: stinkfish on October 26, 2009, 05:55:51 pm Just about any History or Anthropology class.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: JoblessJayFiedler on October 26, 2009, 07:58:00 pm Logic was my favorite class, but it probably had most to do with the professor.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: BingeBag on October 26, 2009, 08:13:07 pm Statics is really cool. I'm all about it.

Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: SportsChick on October 26, 2009, 10:13:29 pm History and psychology. Also loved my Drama/American Musical Theater classes
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: JVides on October 26, 2009, 10:34:50 pm Always loved history and writing, as well as any language classes. Loved science classes, too, until the heavy math started rolling in. I didn't become a math guy until college (I was always good at it, I just didn't enjoy it). To this day, though, I love history. Give me a history book, and I will be entertained.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: raptorsfan29 on October 26, 2009, 10:40:10 pm History was really the only class i liked.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: NADS on October 27, 2009, 01:28:33 am Reading and spelling in elementary school, dodgeball in gym class for Jr. High and High School, and probably Intro to Sports or War: The Human Response in college.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: dolphins4life on October 27, 2009, 01:48:52 am I love my ecology class I am taking now. A few weeks ago, we took a trip out to the beach to observe clams and seashore organisms.
Today, we took sample of water from a pond near near campus. I got to get my jeans muddy and get into the water. I was having the time of my life. We saw a Hawk that had just got a squirrel. Suddenly, the hawk swooped over the pond and dropped the squirrel, covered with blood, into the pond. A sight to behold. Maybe I can become a biologist one day. Working in the lab for a pharmaceutical company was fun, but today is what I love about science. Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Buddhagirl on October 27, 2009, 06:16:42 am I've always loved English, writing, anything like that.
I'm in school now and truly love all of my law and literature classes. I should've stuck with what I liked years ago rather than computers. I HATE being a web slave. Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Denver_Bronco on October 27, 2009, 07:46:01 am I enjoyed co-ed gym classes in middle school.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: BoSoxGrl on October 27, 2009, 01:02:31 pm Recess followed closely by Psychology.
Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: ethurst22 on October 27, 2009, 09:45:43 pm I loved history. Chasing girls and detention hall ran a close second to history.

Computer Engineering? Title: Re: Your favorite class in school Post by: Gabriel on October 27, 2009, 11:13:20 pm The science classes were my favorites in elementary/middle school. I was all about growing lima beans and sugar crystals.
I enjoyed biology, chemistry and physics in high school, but l found literature and the social sciences more interesting. Looking back, my favorite class was AP Language and Composition. It was taught more like a philosophy class than an English class. Though I didn't realize it at the time, the teacher was the best I've ever had. International Relations Theory and Game Theory were my two favorite classes in college. Calculus was definitely my least favorite class of all time. Derivatives and integrals are easy, but I'm prone to algebraic mistakes. It was a very frustrating semester. |
