NBA starts tonight!! C's and Cavs good start to the season!

I'm happy to see the season start, though I expect mediocre results from my Suns. I'm just loving the fantasy hoops action...the boxscore is my boxing ring, and I'm eager to jab some folks. ;)

Players I'm looking forward to watching this year... Kevin Durant, Danny Granger, Anthony Randolph, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Brook Lopez and DJ Augustin.

Rookies I'm thinking will kick a little ass... Stephen Curry did so well in camp that the warriors are bumping Monta Ellis to SG so Curry can start at PG. Sacto raised eyebrows when they drafted Tyreke Evans #4 overall, but the kid's looked great so far running the point for the Kings... DeJuan Blair for San Antonio has the same sort of wide load (fat ass) and strong base as Charles Barkley did when he came up with the Sixers, and unlike Charles, Blair is a legit 6'7", so I can see him having immediate success in the low post for Pop and the Spurs. Shame that Blake Griffin suffered the Clipper curse and broke his kneecap, out 6 weeks (at least), or he'd be one of the top rookies for sure.

To David "Fat Cat" Stern: I still think you're a manipulative, corrupt, despicable piece of shit commissioner, but I cannot deny my love of your league any longer. Please feel free to choke on a chicken bone and die sometime soon so we can get someone better to run the show.

Don't forget your defending NBA champion Lakers are starting things off tonight.

The raptors (my team) are looking like a much better team than last year. They are expected by ESPN experts to finish at least 2nd place in the divison. 6th in the conference.

Chris Bosh, Hedo Türkoğlu, and Andrea Bargnani should be a very formidable Starting 3.  José Calderón is a very solid PG. So i am expecting at least 47 wins, maybe 50 if things go right for the team. 40 if things don't go their way.

Let's go Celts. Big Baby decided to make things interesting by getting into an "altercation" and breaking his thumb - out 6ish weeks. Idiot. The fate of the C's rests on Kevin Garnett's knees. hopefully they're as good as he says they are

The team that I pick to bomb is the Denver Nuggets.

I'm not saying this because I live in Denver but the Nuggets have always been one of my favorite teams with Doug Moe as my favorite coach (who was running the Triangle offense for Alex English long before Phil Jackson stole the trademark).

The Nuggets history shows that the will have an excellent year and go into an 8 year funk. Well, the 8 years will start this year. There is no way they will meet the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

C. Billups started to show his age in the Laker series. Carmelo Anthony is a 21st Century version of Alex English but is improving on defense. The Nuggets made no moves to build on what happened last year. I say that the Denver Nuggets will be the team with the most regression.

C's looked good last night in Cleveland - a match up in which the home team had won 16 straight. Nice to get the season off on the right foot.

Sweet win by The celtics last night. Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels paid instant dividends last night. LeBron can be superman all he wants, but when the money was on the line Paul Pierce outplayed him down the strecth.

The cavs maybe  better down the road once they all start to become fimiliar playing with Shaq, but they just dont have the firepower to beat the celtics in a 7 game series. Lebron has to carry way to much of the load.

Not a fan of either team, and agree that Paul Pierce played extremely well...but I do feel the need to point out that things change a lot over the course of the season, "every season," and those 7-game series come at the very end. Who knows what both teams will look like in April?

I'll be interested to watch my Spurs play tonight.  I want to see how Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess help the Spurs (as well as DeJuan Blair).  Overall, I'm liking the Spurs' depth (except at PG - is George Hill going to get it done?), where I count 6 guys that could go for 20 on any given night (not saying EVERY night, but any) - Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Jefferson, McDyess, Mason, and 3 more that could give you 15 when they're feeling it (Finley, Hill, Blair). 

I'm psyched!

If both rosters stay as they're presently constructed the celtics win. The cavs need an atheltic Power Forward who can guard on the perimeter and strecth defenses offensively. I expect them to inquire about Stephen Jackson, because that bench needs more ammunition. The celtics outscored them 26-10. As soon as Lebron went to the bench that's when the lead evaporated. The same thing hapened in the Orlando series, the starters would build up monster leads only to see the bench surrender it.  Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker are nice players, but Rasheed Wallace is a game changer.

Raptors beat the Cavs tonight 101-91, good way to start off the season with a win.

Someone wake me up when the playoffs start.

Looks like the Celtics are the team to beat!!  Looking good, only 3rd game but they are killing it.  C's bench look good.

I'm a celtics fan and I'm loving this start, but the lakers are the champs and still the team to beat. I feel the celtics are going to win it all, but I've always gone by the notion that the champs are still the champs until proven otherwise. It sure was nice wacthing the Mavs put it on the lakers last night. That was sweet!!

Absolutely correct.  And the Celtics could sweep the Lakers in the regular season, and it wouldn't mean jack once the playoffs start.

4- 1 to start off.  Hope they continue to do well considering how the West is looking.

As a Suns fan even more than a Heat fan, I appreciate the "1" for the Heat just as much as the "4."

6-1 now .. miami is off to a good start #1 in the division

Suns 7-1 and a half game ahead of the Lakers... Nice road wins over Boston and Miami to give both of those squads their only loss so far this season. Jason Richardson looks like I hoped he'd look last year...free and happy in the run and gun. Nash has had two games of 20+ assists already this year and one of Arizona's favorite sons, Channing Frye (former AZ HS player of the year and UA Wildcat) has been an unexpected bonus with his trey-sniping.

^^^ Counting your record against that of the Lakers already. Man that could make for a long season.  ;D

We don't stand a chance against LA in the long haul this season, but I don't mind saying that seeing the Lakers below Phoenix in the standings "at any time" does provide me with a little bit of satisfaction. ;)

Suns knock off Chris Paul and the Hornets by 20 to improve to 8-1, and New Orleans fired Byron Scott today after the Hornets loss last night dropped them to 3-6.

Magic are looking good at 7-3.  Did I mention how much of a beast Dwight Howard is?
