Title: Stats are misleading
Post by: ethurst22 on November 08, 2009, 04:17:35 pm
Everybody jumps on the Dolphins for running what they call a "gimmick" offense.

But has anybody noticed that the average NFL offense has turned into the CFL?

Look at Tom Bradys' stats. 332 yards or whatever seems like he was throwing it all over the place right?

But New England really has no running game. Most of his passes between 5-7 yards make up and disguise the lack of a running game. The 71 yard bomb to Randy Moss should have had safety help. Before that play, Brady had pedestrian numbers

It's the same concept in the CFL. The pass is worth a good running play.

It seems to me that many teams are running CFL type offenses in the NFL these days and why isn't Bart Scott crying about that?

Look at the QB's who played in the CFL that put up ridiculous numbers like Warren Moon. The CFL has been using the spread offense for years.
