2009 Denver Broncos = the most overrated 6-0 team in the history of the universe. 

Want proof?  Three losses in a row, capped off by the loss to the WASHINGTON REDSKINS.

Have fun watching San Diego steal that division.  Again.

I think the problem with the Broncos is the fact that they don't rush the ball consistently and their secondary is showing its age.

Although they have so many current or ex pro bowlers out there, they are just out of gas in the second half of games because their offense doesn't hold onto the ball long enough.

I don't know exactly how you can consider them over-rated when nobody in America had them winning any more then between 3-6 games this season.

If the fact that they won the first 6 gives you reason to pile on them for hitting a slump then so be it.

Do you happen to know that West Coast teams traveling east to play the early games have about an 80% loss percentage historically?

The Redskins first 6 games were all against winless teams (at the time).

And the Redskins lost 4 of them.

Four teams got their first win of the season against the Redskins.  Including the Lions.  After losing like 19 in a row.

That same Redskins team just beat the Broncos.

Hilarious. Denver loses back to back games against the AFC representatives from last years championship game, (B-More and Pitt),  then lays an egg on the road traveling east against an admittedly horrible team in Washington, where they lost their starting QB in the first half.

It would probably be safe a bet to say that you would rather be in Denver's position then in Miami's position right now.

Not me.  I take the long view, so I like Henne over Orton, our backs, O-line and D-line over yours, our corners over yours (ours have their entire careers ahead of them).
 
On the flip side, I'd swap linebackers with you, though (with the exception of Taylor, of course).  DJ Williams and Elvis Dumervil are pretty awesome.  The wideout I'd want (Marshall) seems a malcontent, but I'd take him.

A lot of the loss to Washington can be laid pretty squarely on losing Kyle Orton, as Denver's offense looked great until he left the game, and then Chris "The Spleenless Avenger" Simms came in and looked like a CFL practice squad QB on a bad biorhythm day. And before anyone brings up the "well, Washington didn't have Portis either" argument, I can say that Ladell Betts looked better this weekend than Portis has the whole season, so that backup situation was a lot different than Orton-Simms.

Orton stays in the whole game... Denver wins 31-20-something.
If Simms had gotten the start and played the whole way... Denver would've lost 28-3.

It was a fluke win by a bad team over a decent team (not great, but decent) that happened because of a poorly prepared and undertalented backup QB having to play the entire second half.

Who would have figured that Orton could be so important?

If the kicker doesn't throw that bullshit touchdown Denver wins.  Washington is bad enough for Simms to beat them.  I don't think Denver can hang with the AFC elite, especially in a playoff scenario.  Sound familiar?  On the upside, beat SD next week and Denver is still in the driver's seat.  Sometimes it's a matter of who sucks ass more and with two games against KC, and one against Oakland it could be worse. 

What might seal the deal, DB, is going to Philadelphia if that East-coast thing holds true.  At least the Giants come to Denver because that would be beatdown city in New York.  Good luck with all that. 

The one positive note (for Denver) in this whole mess is that the Kyle Orton critics, who were beginning to come out of the woodwork after the back-to-back losses, have been pretty much shut up.

I'm not gonna pile on denver_bronco, as a matter of fact, I feel humanitarian today so I will help him out.

Orton is a much better quarterback than people give him credit for. I'm serious! He can throw the long ball real good and is pretty smart (something that Jay Cutler is not). Denver is what Miami was last year. They look similiar. Denver needs an infusion of youth in its secondary.

Clinton Portis is on the downside of his career. Ladell Betts was the forgotten power back and Denver wasn't ready for him.

I'll give Josh McDaniels credit to what I thought all along.

That Jay Cutler is overrated.

After getting totally demolished on their field by a San Diego team they manhandled a few weeks ago on the road, I'd say that I have to agree with the title of this thread.

Who told Chris Simms that you don't inherit the quarterback position and that you actually must play the position! Compared to his dad, Chris is sorry. His dad is way better than him.

Orton didn't even practice this week so how could Simms bomb so badly?

The Broncos are saving the game of their life to knock off the undefeated Colts in a few weeks. It's all a ploy right now to bait them in.
