South Korea
Greece

Group C
England
USA
Algeria
Slovenia

Group D
Germany
Australia
Serbia
Ghana

Group E

Japan
Cameroon

Group F
Italy
Paraguay
New Zealand
Slovakia

Group G
Brazil
North Korea
Ivory Coast
Portugal

Group H
Spain
Switzerland
Honduras
Chile

USA's first game is against England and should determine the group winner

Biggest game in the 1st round is going to take place June 25th at 10 AM EST - Brazil VS. Portugal

France cheated to get in and they lucked out with an easy group.

Anyone can win Group B, that group is the most even i think.

France didn't "cheat".  They didn't get called for a penalty.  It's not really the same thing.

I am looking forward to the World Cup, especially since I work from home now and can see (listen) some more games.

They should implement replay and be done with it.

Knowingly breaking the main rule twice in a row to win a can be considered cheating. He used a unfair advantage to gain the upper hand ( no pun intended), and that is what cheating is all about, wether he got got called for a penalty or not is irrelevant.

I am sick of hearing about this stupid handball by France. Soccer is a 90 minute minute match with an aboslutely enormous goal to kick the ball into, yet every game is 1-0.

How about maybe scoring a goal and you don't have to worry about one play?

Fau, judging by this method it would be fair to say that you also think the outcome of NFL games is determined by one play, correct?  ::)

Whining about France is so lame.  The guy is a player, not a ref.  In the speed of a game, he hit the ball with his hand.  Who gives a shit?  The call wasn't made, the league chose not to have replay, so you have to live with it.  It's one play in a 90 minute game.  It's a big play, but still...

If you don't want handballs, have instant replay.

Sounds kinda like the "Hand Of God" play by Diego Maradona.

I can't wait!  Spain should have it easy going into the second round, 3-0.  USA's gonna have it tough with England in their group but they'll advance even if they lose to them, 2-1.  Everyone else can suck and lose, especially those dildos from France.  I say that because in '06 they beat up Spain in round 2 despite Spain powerhousing through and France barely squeaking by in the first round  >:(

Completely agree. We did get screwed by the officiating system though, and we can talk about that all day.

As soon as we'd conceded the goal, everyone was shouting about the handball, but i was looking at the defender (Paul McShane), who by letting the ball bounce in his own box, committed a cardinal sin which is drilled into players, especially defenders, from the age of around 9 onwards.

Yeah he handballed it, then touched it onto his right foot, but anyone who plays knows that this kind of thing happens because the game is so fast. It lies with the officials to spot it, they didn't, end of story.

Maybe you never heard of this in the States, but a group of around 300 people marched on the French Embassy in Dublin, demanding a replay of the match - the whole thing just turned into a f***ing embarrassment, along with bothering Henry at the Barcelona training ground.

I am sick of hearing about this stupid handball by France. Soccer is a 90 minute minute match with an aboslutely enormous goal to kick the ball into, yet every game is 1-0.

Denver its obvious that you simply just don't understand soccer enough to appreciate it, if that is your disposition towards the game. Bear in mind i say the exact same thing to idiots who tell me that NFL has "too many stoppages" or is only played "by loads of fat dudes".

This is the best draw for the US ever. If they advance to the knock-out rounds, and they will only have themselves to blame if the don't, then they will not have to face any of the top four teams until the semi-finals.
