Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on December 10, 2009, 11:22:12 pm Two observations tonight:
1. The Wildcat is not dead. 2. We should have gotten Josh Cribbs before the trade deadline. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: USO-ORLANDO on December 10, 2009, 11:25:06 pm Roth too!!
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Tenshot13 on December 10, 2009, 11:37:51 pm Although this kills my fantasy team because Pitt is my defense, another wildcard team is falling out of the mix..that just opens up more opportunities for our phins to make the playoffs!
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Sunstroke on December 10, 2009, 11:45:48 pm Who were those lightweight pansies disguised as Pittsburgh's O-line? Eight sacks...by Cleveland? If I were Roethlisberger, I'd sue for non-support... Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: StL FinFan on December 10, 2009, 11:50:11 pm Rothlisberger held on to the ball way too long.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: raptorsfan29 on December 10, 2009, 11:58:16 pm Not so sure about pittsburgh now, if they can't beat the browns, what chance do they have beating the ravens, dolphins or Packers in their final three games?
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: StL FinFan on December 11, 2009, 12:56:06 am zero to none
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Brian Fein on December 11, 2009, 09:00:53 am Mike Tomlin should be embarrassed.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Denver_Bronco on December 11, 2009, 09:47:19 am You suck Pitt. I told everyone you sucked. No offense!
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Philly Fin Fan on December 11, 2009, 09:49:20 am Not so sure about pittsburgh now, if they can't beat the browns, what chance do they have beating the ravens, dolphins or Packers in their final three games? Lets hope they have just enough to beat the Ravens, as that will help the Fins! Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: StL FinFan on December 11, 2009, 09:54:05 am Rothlisbeger looked terrible. He held on to the ball way to long like he had no idea to throw it away when there wasn't anyone open.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on December 11, 2009, 11:20:24 am Mike Tomlin should be embarrassed. I agree here. If I were him, I'd call for a practice today and just have them run gassers until they collapse, faint, or puke. I don't think this team is respecting their Super Bowl title. Losing to Oakland was bad enough, but the Raiders have gone from sorry to just below average with the QB switch. Losing to Cleveland on the other hand is inexcusable. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Doc-phin on December 11, 2009, 12:40:10 pm Nothing better than having your playoffs hopes kept alive because everybody else sucks.
Unless you just prefer the feeling of being the best of the worst. Words of advice... Don't get your hopes up. We are still an injury ridden team with minimal explosiveness and a tendency to give up big plays regardless of who we are playing. With that said... I can't stand Pittsburg anyway, great job Cleveland!!! Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Dave Gray on December 11, 2009, 12:43:29 pm Although it looks good for us, this doesn't help the Dolphins. To get in, we had to beat Pitt anyway, which would've thrown them out. The only thing this gives the Fins is that maybe Pitt will be so demoralized when they come to play us, but on the other hand, they'll have nothing to lose.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Spider-Dan on December 11, 2009, 01:15:57 pm Not so sure about miami now, if they can't beat the bills, what chance do they have beating the texans, steelers or Titans in their final three games? Are memories getting really short around here?Let's not get too crazy with the criticism. We did just lose to BUF, who provided the pathetic Browns with their only other win. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: dolphins4life on December 11, 2009, 02:57:09 pm It can only help us. It can't hurt us.
This Sunday's game is a must-win. That is for sure. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Dave Gray on December 11, 2009, 03:30:08 pm It can only help us. It can't hurt us. What's your line of thinking? Where I'm sitting, I don't see how this helps us at all. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't help. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Spider-Dan on December 11, 2009, 04:36:44 pm What's your line of thinking? Where I'm sitting, I don't see how this helps us at all. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't help. If, for example, SD also would up with 3 more losses (unlikely, but certainly possible against DAL, CIN, TEN, WSH), then our head-to-head tiebreaker over PIT is nullified (we beat PIT, who beat SD, who beat us). So then it comes down to conference record... and PIT losing an in-conference game to a team that has already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs is always good for any team that is competing with PIT for a playoff spot. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Dave Gray on December 11, 2009, 04:56:00 pm ^^
That line you crossed out is pretty big, since we were, at that point, tied. If we are to win out (which is required), we give Pit a loss, and beat them outright (no tiebreakers.) Therefore, it's meaningless. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Spider-Dan on December 11, 2009, 06:49:28 pm It's still not exactly required for us to win out.
ranking team overall division conference 6. Jacksonville Jaguars 7-5 (3-2, 6-2) 7. Baltimore Ravens 6-6 (3-2, 6-4) 8. Miami Dolphins 6-6 (4-2, 4-4) 9. New York Jets 6-6 (2-4, 5-5) 10. Pittsburgh Steelers 6-7 (1-4, 4-6) 11. Tennessee Titans 5-7 (2-4, 3-7) 12. Houston Texans 5-7 (1-5, 4-6) Of the 6 other teams on this list, we already own tiebreakers against 1 (NYJ) and are playing the other 4. Provided that we beat JAX, we could still lose one of the last three games and get in, as long as the team that we lose to isn't in contention (e.g. PIT). The only way that we wouldn't get in is if one of the other teams on this list runs the table, and even that would potentially help us (as HOU and JAX both play NE). Plus, BAL and PIT play each other in week 16. So PIT losing still helps us, in that we could potentially clinch a playoff spot before we play them in week 17. Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Dave Gray on December 11, 2009, 06:53:42 pm OK. I have given up hope for any more losses.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: Denver_Bronco on December 12, 2009, 07:13:03 am If I were you guys I would stop using the mathematics and just see where you are going into weeks 16 & 17. It would be just a tad easier by then. Win your games, then talk about it.
Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: NADS on December 15, 2009, 02:40:33 am Not so sure about pittsburgh now, if they can't beat the browns, what chance do they have beating the ravens, dolphins or Packers in their final three games? Spoiler alert--the Steelers will play a part in someone missing the playoffs. That huge popping sound is Pittsburgh's head coming out of its ass after losing to the Browns. The worse thing that can happen is they say "fuck it" and start converting on 4th down and forever because they've got nothing to lose. When is Polamalu due back? Title: Re: Browns beat Steelers Post by: fyo on December 15, 2009, 05:41:19 pm If I were you guys I would stop using the mathematics and just see where you are going into weeks 16 & 17. It would be just a tad easier by then. Win your games, then talk about it. That gives us nothing to do NOW. We're fans; it's not like we actually influence what happens on the field ;) |
