Title: Key Play of the Game - Jax '09
Post by: Doc-phin on December 15, 2009, 12:24:16 pm
Again, I think this is better if posted closer to the game.  So if anyone wants to start the Key Play thread for me, that would be great.

My pick - The pass interference call on Wilson to give 1st and goal from the one.  I actually don't think Wilson actually inhibited the receiver before the ball arrived, but yes their jerseys were touching.  Instead of the score reflecting how dominate we were, the Jags managed to keep morale in the fact that they were still in it.

I would have said the missed field goal, but that would have put us up by seven instead of four.  I am not sure that was much of a factor in the way the Jags approached their game plan.  I wouldn't be surprised if many people picked one of the Gerrard sacks, I just tend to look a little earlier in the game.

Randy Starks nailing David Garrard on 4th and 3 was my choice for key play.  Up until that time, the game kept going back and forth, so I really can't pick a key play from earlier on.

We had been getting killed all last year and this year by QB draws and naked bootlegs.  The fact that Jax called it and we read it perfectly and snuffed it out shows some serious improvement on the defensive front seven's part.

It's odd t me,there wasn't one play I think was the key...But alot of little plays, added together...The play that keeps sticking out in my mind is Vontae Laying on the ground, reaching up to Trip the Jags player....It's wasn't a turning point really, but one of those little momentum things that gives us that...You can't beat us feeling....

I'm with Tommy.  The Starks sack really sealed a game that could have gone either way at the end.
