I am back at home trapped in an enormous blizzard.

Should be a good game on tap today.  Two teams, the loser of which will be eliminated from playoff contentions.

In addition to rooting for the Dolphins, root for the Bills.

Listening to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's rendition of "Carol of the Bells" to put me in a little holiday spirit.  Their version is called "Christmas/Sarajevo - 12/24".  A magnificent song.

Vince Young is active (and has participated in all practices this week), so he'll be under center, no question.

Jake Grove was listed as questionable and with limited participation in practice. He has NOT been deactivated for the game. (Neither has Porter, the other "limited participation" player for the Dolphins this week).

The special teams blocking on the kick return was HORRIBLE. About the most un-enthusiastic I've ever seen.

Henne "took" a sack there. No other choice. He did the right thing. Avoided pressure, stepped up, kept scanning down field. Two guys hit him. He sees it and tucks the ball in to avoid risk of fumble. Good job. (But GET OPEN receivers!)

The defense has to do a better job on third down

Why don't they teach the center (or does the QB make the call?) to hike the ball when a lineman jumps off sides?

Just an arm-tackle, nothing special, and Ricky couldn't hold on. Looked like he had the ball okay, but that's something they're going to need to address.

The refs really need to call these holdings. We've been hurt big by a couple now. This has gotta stop.

Yet again, dumb play calling in the red zone. :/

Ginn is running straight ahead (which was how he started the season, but not how he got his good returns). His blockers are running past the first handful of defenders before engaging. Result: Ginn gang-tackled at the 20 every time.

Which play call? The one where Hartline was COMPLETELY UNCOVERED in the bottom left of the end zone and Henne throws a laser where he has NO CHANCE of getting to it?

Horrible play calling in the red zone. They wasted at least a down.

Why would you overload a blitz on the left side of the Titans line when Johnson is set up on the right for a screen pass. My grandmother could have saw that play coming.

Really bad play by Hartline dropping that pass. He was about to get sandwiched, but dropped the ball with just a little shove. He had it with both hands and still couldn't hold on. Pretty close to being a fumble, actually.

The refs really SUCK at calling the horse collar. I've seen way more incorrect calls than correct.

Well forget that idea with that pick.  Can the Dolphins rally in the second half.  Stay tuned. 

Rallying seems pretty difficult especially when they fall apart in the second half.

Back to the Pat White stuff... What exactly are they trying to do? He's clearly not an effective runner. He can't sell the handoff...

The  only thing I can think of is that they're setting up the Pat White pass... and I think that scares me even more than the ineffective running.

Just curious...will watch it again later, but when Vince Young fumbled a minute or so ago, did the 3 Phins in position to recover that fumble get knocked down by a Titans player, or did they all fall on top of each other for the hell of it?

That was Vontae on the coverage. The turf monster got him... But the big problem is that he's lining up only a few yards from the line of scrimmage, yet only pushing his receiver ever so lightly. If he lines up tight, he needs to really be physical. That's something both of our new, young corners need to learn.

One guy (d-lineman, huge guy, not sure who) tried to jump over another Dolphins player. But 300lb linemen can't jump, regardless of color, and he flopped on the ground.

Just saw a replay of the TD pass from before. Vontae was supposed to have Culver as safety help over the top, but Culver totally blows it. Basically just standing still in the middle of nowhere, sorta turning to run after the receiver, but WAY WAY too late. Really bad play.

Another side note... When Ginn just caught his first pass of the game on the sideline a few seconds ago, did he not have the extra cautious super-focused look of a kid who's gotten the "drop one more fucking pass and your ass rides pine" speech recently?

Even though we lost, pretty much ending our season, I still say our season ended in Buffalo. If you can't beat the Bills with 10 days to prepare, you don't belong in the playoffs.

We just started too poorly this year. Ted Ginn has killed us several times this season with his drops, once we cut him next season, maybe our fortunes will change.
