Title: Chad Henne's "eye" injury
Post by: jtex316 on January 04, 2010, 08:35:53 am
I watched the entire game. How did Chad Henne injure his "eye"? They had a close-up of him on the sidelines and both of his eyes looked fine.

Who injures their eye during halftime? Jim McMahon didn't even need but one eye to play for the Bears.

I'd like to know some details about this.

Apparently the media is now saying that he got hit in the head and suffered from blurred vision.

Most people aren't buying it. I was listening on the radio and even the Dolphin's announcers didn't particularly buy into though they didn't  harp on it.  They should have just said what it was for and been done with it.  It's something pretty silly to lose your integrity over. I even read that Chad didn't want to discuss it after the game.

Pittsburgh was giving him some rough shots. I don't think that it was anything wrong with his eye. He looked fine to me. I think that with the way the o-line was blocking and the inability of Hilliard, Ricky and Fasano to provide adequate pass blocking, they took him out. I guess Sparano didn't want to risk a major injury.

Pat White became the sacrifical lamb.

So Chad Henne got benched? I don't think he was playing THAT poorly. And the Dolphins were in the game to some extent.

When I was watching the game, I couldn't help to think that Henne got into a fight with the coach and he got benched because of it. You're in a dog-fight (and a good game) with an outside shot of making the playoffs - you don't bench your starting QB and call it an "eye" injury.

I smell bullshit.

I think its a conspiracy.  I think they just wanted to see what Pat White could do and were mailing the season in.  I don't know if the Patriots/Houston game had any bearing on this decision.

Henne was throwing the ball on the sideline at one point during the second half.  I really think he was fine.  I think Sparano threw Pat White to the wolves to see what the kid can do.

Henne's damned if he does, and Damned if he doesn't...He had blurry vision effecting his depth perception...Not great thing to lose as a QB....If he would have Played and thrown 3 - 4 Picks....He'd been crucified! He Sucks,Why Did he go back out there,Blah,Blah,Blah..... :P

You know Jtex, you've got a damn good point.

The Dolphins brass were probably tired of hearing that White was a wasted second round draft pick. So they set him up to fail against a vicious defense. On one play, the linebacker came totally free and gave him a vicious shot. Nobody blocked the linebacker AT ALL. I'm surprised that he didn't fumble on that play and that was before he got clocked by Ike Taylor.

After that performance by White, if they cut him, they can always point back to that game against the Steelers. There was nothing wrong with Henne. I think that Miami realized that they should just tank it and expose a few players and get a favorable draft slot.

White would have to reedeem himself in training camp and I don't see that happening at all

Did we really need to see more of Pat White yesterday to know he was a bust?  I didn't.

Apparently it wasn't affecting shit at the end of the 2nd half. He wasn't playing THAT bad.

Etrust also has a good point (wow!). That sack that Pat White took reminded me of a scene out of the new "The Longest Yard" movie where Sandler gets knocked on his ass on purpose. I think that Pat White got a shot on purpose (he probably is a punk) and then the unexpected happened.

"Blurred Vision" and "depth perception" sound like excuses to me. If he suffered a concussion - OK (why wasn't he receiving medical treatment?). But he didn't suffer a concussion. Something happened and it cost the Dolphins a win (forget playoffs - you play to WIN THE GAME).

What the H*LL were they doing with the O-line yesterday? Seriously, they had some really strange (for the Dolphins) blocking schemes and a lot of the time, it just completely blew up in their faces. Well, in the quarterback/runningback's face, anyway.

Did you ever consider..JUST MAYBE! The last3 plays of the first half...Snap over Henne's Head, then the Sack by Woodley..OMG.It happened when Henne was sacked right before the Field Goal.....

When that shotgun snap went over Hennes' head, I'm asking myself why is Jake grove in their when he hasn't played in a month? Strange.

That was a strange game.

I don't know what happened to Vernon Carey but Lamarr Woodley was blowing by Fasano and Hilliard who stayed in to block. When that stuff was happening, whoever was at right tackle was no where to be found.

I thought about it, but I watched the replay a few times and I didn't see anything go anywhere near Henne's eye/face.  It was just a regular sack...

You don't just get all of a sudden "blurred vision" and "lack of depth perception". If that happened on the sack, then that's a concussion. Or, he just got some dirt in his eye, which could have easily been rubbed off.

Not convinced about the "eye" injury.

Shouldn't that be eye "injury" or "eye injury"?  He has eyes, that is not what is being questioned.

Phew, not seriously injured.  I couldn't imagine what the Dolphins would do next year without Captain Dumpoff Chad Henne.

I wanted to see the last 5 minutes of the second half,I only had a few minutes, and checked NFL.com......It's as simple as if he was staggering,or said Blurrey Vison...(With all the concussion conerns) It's now a saftey issue,If the trainer didn't get an answer that he liked, They probably didn't clear him to play.....If he has blurrey Vision, lack of depth perception...He can't protect himself....

Yes, I have all the sudden gotten Blurrey Vision...I then, got a standing 8 count, then Lied to the Ref and said I was fine.......If I didn't go in attacking, the ref would stop the fight and say it's over..........(and that was 15 years ago)  :D

I wish I'd been suffering from blurred vision this past Sunday, but I wasn't...and therefore had to clearly watch all of the extreme suckage from too many Phins players.
