I had to take my car in to get serviced today.  Since I don't have a regular guy, I went to my parents' guy.  They like him and find him trustworthy, already have a rapport with him, etc.

Anyway, my Dad drove me to drop off my car and was introducing me to the guy.  My family is all from the deep South, including Kentucky.  Apparently, so is this car guy.  My Dad is going on about Kentucky and my Dad says to me: "He's from Kentucky.  Does he look like it?"

And I jokingly said: "No.  He has all of his teeth."

Then, the guy laughed and proceeded to pull out his entire row of dentures.  ...every tooth.  I said "well...there you go."

We laughed, because what else could you do.  I probably should've been embarrassed for sticking my foot in my mouth, but it was such an odd circumstance that I just laughed it off.

Some people don't mind. My dad and I take it personally if people make jokes about where we are from though.

How do you know the tooth brush was invented in Kentucky?





If it was invented elsewhere it would have been called the teethbrush. 

What do you get when you have 32 Kentuckians in the same room?

A full set of teeth.

I think that is hilarious...and yeah, I may have felt a little embarrassed, but I'd have appreciated his sense of humor by showing that they were all fake teeth. ;)

He seemed to take it with a grain of salt so no harm no foul. Pretty funny too.
