Title: Tomlinson cut by Chargers. Post by: Dave Gray on February 23, 2010, 03:47:11 pm Sort of surprising and not at the same time. He wasn't the back he used to be, but it's still surprising to me how quickly RBs wash up.

Had a 100 reception season, threw 7 TD passes...and the guy had double digit rushing TDs "every" season he was in the NFL. The only problem I've ever had with LT is that he didn't play for my 49ers... :'( One other thought on Tomlinson... It's pretty common these days to talk about RBs being interchangeable, and that you can wait on a RB in the draft, etc... Tomlinson was drafted #5 overall, and is a great example of "if you think a player will be special, then fuck convention and grab the guy." Title: Re: Tomlinson cut by Changers. Post by: ethurst22a on February 24, 2010, 11:46:16 pm I think that Tomlinson was the victim of the offense going from a run base mentality to a pass based mentality which severely limited his touches. I'm not saying he would have blew the roof off but the Chargers could have won more games.
