Maybe we can trade the vikings Chad Henne for a couple first round picks.

I'm really surprised by this news.  I thought for sure he'd come back.

Of course he has to retire.  He can't just sit out of camp and then stroll into the third preseason game, like nothing happened.

First, he needs to retire. 

Then after the Viking fans are in a full fledged frenzy over the pathetic play of the QBs in the first two preseason games, his injuries miraculously heal and he returns to Minn as the gallant hero. 

I don't think anyone's falling for it this time.  He'll be back, right about the time they have cuts to 53.

Nope...this time there really is a wolf, rather than just the cry for attention.

I was fully expecting Favre to be back. I guess the ankle just isn't going to be ready. I agree with Stroke. He doesn't come back this time.

I won't fully believe he is retired until the end of the season.  Coming back pre-season, 1 day before the Saints game or even mid season would not surprise me in the least.

^^ This is a good point.  IF he really is retired, what was the point of playing last season?  Just to play a couple of games against the Packers and "stick it to them?"

He played the entire league like a fiddle for 3 years, and now he's ruined the Vikings.

Vikings coach Brad Childress arrived at the podium roughly 10 minutes late for his previously-scheduled press conference.

Amazingly, he said nothing about the Brett Favre situation in his opening remarks.

Even more amazingly, the first question had nothing to do with Favre.

The second question dealt with the reason why we were all watching the press conference.

Childress said that he's not aware of Favre telling anyone he's not playing.  Seriously.

So either Childress is lying, or Favre has opted to tell folks other than Chilly -- even though the two men have spoken in the past 24 hours.

Childress reiterated that he won't be surprised if Favre does or doesn't play.  "He's got to feel like he can jump all in," Childress said.  "He's not a half-baked guy."

After further questioning on the matter, Childress said, "I feel like this is Watergate."

As far as the NFL is concerned, Coach, it is.

This isn't Favre's fault, really.  It's the management of all these teams that let him walk all over them.

He's just doing what's best for him.  If he can make a bunch of cash to play 1 year with a team and not have to go to camp and that's what he wants to do, more power to him.  The Vikes are dumb for trusting their future to "check with me again right before the season starts."  They're going to be standing around with their dicks in their hands and they should've seen it coming.

Chad henne for 2 first round picks would be a great trade for the dolphins.

It would be an astronomical trade for the Dolphins.   

Then would you put Chad Pennington back in as the starter or give it to Tyler Thigpen?

^^I'd put Penny back in, assuming he can build up some armstrength, because he was weak in camp.

Brett Favre is waffling on whether he will play?  I am shocked... shocked, I say.
