Maybe we can trade the vikings Chad Henne for a couple first round picks. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Dave Gray on August 03, 2010, 11:08:44 am I'm really surprised by this news. I thought for sure he'd come back.
Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 03, 2010, 11:08:56 am Hmmm....this story seems familiar.
Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Sunstroke on August 03, 2010, 11:22:57 am Tarvaris Jackson...Sage Rosenfels...come on down!! (Translation: Da Vikes be screwed) Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 03, 2010, 11:32:32 am Of course he has to retire. He can't just sit out of camp and then stroll into the third preseason game, like nothing happened.
First, he needs to retire. Then after the Viking fans are in a full fledged frenzy over the pathetic play of the QBs in the first two preseason games, his injuries miraculously heal and he returns to Minn as the gallant hero. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Brian Fein on August 03, 2010, 11:39:04 am I don't think anyone's falling for it this time. He'll be back, right about the time they have cuts to 53.
Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Sunstroke on August 03, 2010, 12:11:43 pm Nope...this time there really is a wolf, rather than just the cry for attention. Favre won't be coming back... Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Phishfan on August 03, 2010, 12:17:02 pm I was fully expecting Favre to be back. I guess the ankle just isn't going to be ready. I agree with Stroke. He doesn't come back this time.

He doesn't come back this time. I won't fully believe he is retired until the end of the season. Coming back pre-season, 1 day before the Saints game or even mid season would not surprise me in the least. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Pats2006 on August 03, 2010, 12:49:57 pm This guy is a fucking dick. He has been doing this for years now. Way to fuck a team. I hope a Minnesota fan runs his old ass over. The owner last week just said Favre was there starting QB. This guy is a joke.
Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Brian Fein on August 03, 2010, 01:09:47 pm ^^ This is a good point. IF he really is retired, what was the point of playing last season? Just to play a couple of games against the Packers and "stick it to them?"
He played the entire league like a fiddle for 3 years, and now he's ruined the Vikings. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 03, 2010, 01:12:54 pm It gets better....guess who is the only person not to know Farve intends to retire...okay I won't make you guess....
Childress says he's not aware of Favre's intent to retire Posted by Mike Florio on August 3, 2010 12:25 PM ET Vikings coach Brad Childress arrived at the podium roughly 10 minutes late for his previously-scheduled press conference. Amazingly, he said nothing about the Brett Favre situation in his opening remarks. Even more amazingly, the first question had nothing to do with Favre. The second question dealt with the reason why we were all watching the press conference. Childress said that he's not aware of Favre telling anyone he's not playing. Seriously. So either Childress is lying, or Favre has opted to tell folks other than Chilly -- even though the two men have spoken in the past 24 hours. Childress reiterated that he won't be surprised if Favre does or doesn't play. "He's got to feel like he can jump all in," Childress said. "He's not a half-baked guy." After further questioning on the matter, Childress said, "I feel like this is Watergate." As far as the NFL is concerned, Coach, it is. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Dave Gray on August 03, 2010, 01:13:13 pm This isn't Favre's fault, really. It's the management of all these teams that let him walk all over them.
He's just doing what's best for him. If he can make a bunch of cash to play 1 year with a team and not have to go to camp and that's what he wants to do, more power to him. The Vikes are dumb for trusting their future to "check with me again right before the season starts." They're going to be standing around with their dicks in their hands and they should've seen it coming. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: bsfins on August 03, 2010, 01:28:39 pm I was listening to Dan patrick, they dropped a good idea...A Just retired Veteran QB, that likes playing in Domes....Kurt Warner
I'm from Missouri.....Show me.....I'll believe it when I see it.... Too bad John Beck was just traded to from Baltimore, to Washington....I wonder if Rick Speilman wants to deal...Hey Pat White,What do you do you think of the color Purple? Chad henne for 2 first round picks would be a great trade for the dolphins. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 03, 2010, 01:37:28 pm Chad henne for 2 first round picks would be a great trade for the dolphins. It would be an astronomical trade for the Dolphins. Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Landshark on August 03, 2010, 02:37:02 pm Chad henne for 2 first round picks would be a great trade for the dolphins. It would be an astronomical trade for the Dolphins. Then would you put Chad Pennington back in as the starter or give it to Tyler Thigpen? Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: Brian Fein on August 03, 2010, 03:11:01 pm ^^I'd put Penny back in, assuming he can build up some armstrength, because he was weak in camp.
Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 04, 2010, 01:24:05 pm And you thought you had seen Favre drama? Did you? Just wait it gets better.....

"Knowing Brett, he was probably trying to send them to Suzy Kolber but they got picked off." Title: Re: Favre Retires Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on August 04, 2010, 05:16:07 pm ESPN is reporting that agents for John Madden & Jenn Sterger have reached an agreement for him to purchase her cell phone, the dollar amount of the transaction was not immediately available.
