Title: Lot's of player movement this week in the NFL;Good or Bad?
Post by: bsfins on October 06, 2010, 11:54:35 am
Marshawn Lynch trade to Seattle,Randy Moss traded to the Vikings,Vikings Trade DE Jayme Mitchell to the Browns for a pick,Jets Cut Patrick Turner & David Clowney, Clowney Signed with Carolina,Carolina released Dwayne Jarrett,Bears Cut DE Anderson,Signed former Saints Dolphins De Charles Grant...

There are more moves than that...But it's only Weds! I understand people are under performing, injured and teams need to make moves, but I't almost like baseball season  lately.... :D

So Do you think this in season trades and Flurry of moves are a Good thing,or a Bad thing?

I think it is good.  And I think that the reason it is happening more this year is the absence of a salary cap.

I think some players in years past have not been cut/traded despite no longer fitting with a team, b/c the cap hit of the accelerated bonus on the cap number.

As a fan, I would be happy to see that my team was trying to correct their problems early in the season.

I think it's good, so long as it's players that are not performing/disgruntled.  You don't want to see legacy players moved around, if you can help it.

Good question, though.

I'm with Dave... I don't mind seeing middle-tier players moving around (the Colts could use a DB), but even someone like Randy Moss (still a top-10 receiver, IMHO) is a bit too much.

It's neither good or bad, I just don't remember there being this many trades during the season as we've had this year.

On the other hand, with the way teams stockpile players at certain positions now, we may see more in-season trades.
