Title: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Brian Fein on November 10, 2010, 11:41:39 am ...and cut Jason Allen.
This sucks. Although I'm sure MikeO is happy. Save your gloating for some other site. I am pretty annoyed. Why keep Nate Ness or Nolan Carroll and burn Jason Allen for washed up old ass Al Harris? Really? Bad move, Dolphins. Jason Allen will get scooped up by New England and end up burning us in December. You heard it here first. Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: hordman on November 10, 2010, 11:43:36 am wow, you got that right. this stuff ALWAYS comes back to bite us in the ass.
I understand the benching, but he makes no excuses and plays hard. wow....wiki already updated. technology at it's best! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Harris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Harris) Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: jtex316 on November 10, 2010, 11:47:43 am Al Harris got EXPOSED during the 2007 NFC Championship Game where Plaxico Burress - on one ankle - completely owned him. He's been a bum ever since.
Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Spider-Dan on November 10, 2010, 12:06:10 pm I guess Jason Allen is no longer carrying his weight on special teams, either?
Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Barslacks on November 10, 2010, 12:32:22 pm Good riddance! Sick of seeing that guy fall on his ass, getting burned, and missing arm tackle after arm tackle. I hope he goes to the Pats, it would help us in January, Marshall will eat him up just like every other WR has this year. I dont think Al Harris is the answer though. Funny how we go after a 36 yr old DB but wont take a chance on a 33 yr old future HOF WR like Moss, that has a better chance of burning us this week than Will Allen will.
Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Landshark on November 10, 2010, 01:33:11 pm And the last player from that 2006 draft that had so many slugs is gone.
Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Philly Fin Fan on November 10, 2010, 04:14:42 pm Al Harris? Seriously? Wasn't there any better player on someones practice squad? This move, combined with the switch to Pennington shows me that the front office doesn't care about any possible future growth, and are only concerned about winning now. Whether that gets them in the playoffs or not, or helps build for next season, they don't care. They don't care about the future.
Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Pappy13 on November 10, 2010, 04:17:56 pm I got to tell ya'll it's not looking real good for Sparano's and Ireland's decisions since Bill turned the reigns over to them.

Whether that gets them in the playoffs or not, or helps build for next season, they don't care. They don't care about the future. These moves show me that this front office is getting a little desperate and that Ross has given them the ultamatum to either make the playoffs or look for another job next year. Personally, I like Sparano's fiery attitude but his clock management and game strategy is horrendous. Both him and Henning should be let go in the offseason, regardless of what happens from here on out. Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Brian Fein on November 10, 2010, 04:28:58 pm ^^ knee jerk reaction much? How can you say that?

Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: bsfins on November 10, 2010, 04:39:15 pm I kept thinking this guy was a Punt/kick return guy also..then Looked at his stats....Wrong.... :-[

I was proven CORRECT!! As i said I was for the past month. Jason Allen stinks, everyone who knows anything abotu football saw it except for a few people here. The guy was burned game in and game out. Take away Farve giving him 2 gifts and he hadn't made a postive play all year Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Spider-Dan on November 10, 2010, 06:13:03 pm Were you also proven correct about Sean Smith being a bust? You know, your actual original point?

I'm not even disagreeing with you on content, just pointing out the problem in your logic. Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: MikeO on November 10, 2010, 06:38:59 pm Were you also proven correct about Sean Smith being a bust? You know, your actual original point? yeah he isn't any good either!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's just slightly better than Jason Allen right now!!! I was right twice. Thanks for reminding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: MikeO on November 11, 2010, 07:27:11 am I don't think it's fair that you paint Sparano as a know-nothing, and then use his decision-making as proof that you are correct about Allen. I'm not even disagreeing with you on content, just pointing out the problem in your logic. The logic is very simple. There are ONLY 2 things to judge a coach on. 1) Wins/Losses 2) Their decision making It's simple. That's how you judge these people. Do you win games. And do you make smart decisions. Sparano is zero for two! Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: fyo on November 11, 2010, 09:19:13 am The logic is very simple. Sparano is zero for two! You appear to be applying some kind of boolean operator on each of your points. Wins/losses are usually given as the actual ratio or winning percentage, which in Sparano's case would be 22-18 or 0.550. As for quantifying decision making, I find it impressive that you're able to make that a black and white issue, with absolutely no gray. Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: Spider-Dan on November 11, 2010, 12:25:40 pm The logic is very simple. There are ONLY 2 things to judge a coach on. So, to summarize:1) Wins/Losses 2) Their decision making It's simple. That's how you judge these people. Do you win games. And do you make smart decisions. Sparano is zero for two! - Sparano makes bad decisions - Sparano chose to release Jason Allen - This proves that you were right about Jason Allen...? If Sparano makes bad decisions, and Sparano agrees with you, doesn't that mean that you're wrong? Title: Re: Dolphins sign Al Harris Post by: MikeO on November 11, 2010, 05:17:52 pm So, to summarize: - Sparano makes bad decisions - Sparano chose to release Jason Allen - This proves that you were right about Jason Allen...? If Sparano makes bad decisions, and Sparano agrees with you, doesn't that mean that you're wrong? NO!!!!!!! The bad decision was playing him and starting him from Week 1. Letting him go in November is trying to make up for his bad decision ::) |
