Title: Maybe Sparano misses his mentor.
Post by: Pappy13 on December 22, 2010, 06:27:10 pm
Here's a radical idea. Perhaps the recent troubles by Miami can be traced back further than Tony Sparano, perhaps it can be traced back to Bill Parcells.  I was pretty happy with the direction of the team up until about 6 weeks ago.  Is it just coincidence that Bill Parcells quit coming to the Dolphins facility shortly before that time?  Perhaps Tony Sparano is missing his former mentor's presence a lot more than we first had imagined?  Don't forget that Parcells used to roam the sideline during practices quite a bit and pull people aside from time to time to impart some wisdom.  Could it be that Parcells had a bigger impact on the team than we thought? It sure does seem to me that the team has been going in a downward direction lately and that it seemed to start in that direction just shortly after Bill Parcells cleaned out his office for good.

Pure coincidence?

Sometimes when the training wheels come off you find out how good the driver really is.

If Ross doesn't fire Sparano. And if Parcells is in charge at Minny in some form helping the Vikings hire a new head coach. Mike Nolan will be his man and he will be the next Vikings head coach. I would be a large sum of $$$ on that.

Parcells ONLY hires Parcells guys. And Nolan is pretty much one of the few Parcells guys out there who isn't a head coach who has the resume to take a spot like that. Romeo Crenell is too old. Weis is more of a Belichick guy than a Parcells. Nolan is pretty much it.
