Title: My Office Gossip:What's a normal sex life? Post by: bsfins on January 25, 2011, 12:33:40 pm I've debated back and forth on this thread...I'm Not asking how much nookie you're getting,and honestly DON'T want to know...I hope we're all old enough to discuss this...
This started one week ago,3 coworkers and I were driving to a meeting,and the driver made a remark about one of the guy's in the back seat about being very smiley,and chipper this morning.On the way back,one of the other guy's said, you must have gotten some last night...The guy had a baby within the last 6 months,they were bantering back and forth about how often they get it.The driver who happens to be my boss,and the oldest in the car,says "We do something at least 5-6 times a week". We've been married for over 25 years, our kids are out of the house,we're making up for time lost when they were here. In the staff meetings,I hear people talking about it...Is that normal? We do it...and try to do it...I know it's made the office a much happier place lately,because they're going home and tackling their spouses/significant others. In the past week the office has been a buzz about these statements,2 different times,by 2 different people that weren't in that car have asked me....What is a normal sex life to you,when you're in a long term relationship? If a friend of your tells you, They go at it like rabbits 4 times a week? is that normal? If they go down on each other 3 times a week, and intercourse once a week is that more normal? How about a once a month get away where you whip out the leather, the furry costumes,handcuffs and whips,and the trapeze? is that normal? When does it become abnormal? Or strange? I understand it's all personal choice....but the "Normal" line seems to zig zag a lot to me... Title: Re: My Office Gossip:What's a normal sex life? Post by: bsfins on January 25, 2011, 07:29:17 pm Personally, it's a topic I don't have any experience to reference....I've never been married, I don't have kids....My last two long term relationships were so far skewed towards the totally fucked side of the meter. My last ex was younger than I was,and in a different place in her life,and She was a fall down drunk.The relationship before that I felt more like a male prostitute,She lived 450 miles away,and basically was a 1 weekend a month relationship,for for about 2 of those 3 years....She was older and ready to settle down,I never felt like she was the "one",I was too young, and we were too different in some key areas......I can bash what she did to me,but never bash her for she was there for me at my darkest hour....
My Friends aren't any help...My best friends are pretty much two gay couples.....Two guys,and Two gals....(one happen to be Brother and Sister), and their parents I'm pretty good parents with... I figured here's a place where there quite a few people, from different areas of the country, at different stages of marriage,many varied different views on things...It would give me a pretty good view on What "Normal" might be.... Weekends are a must and we try to find time during the week during our busy days. When we were first dating it was all the time but we have been together for about 6 years so I would say that it is normal for where we are now. We are both pretty good with communication as well so I would comfortably say we are both fine with it the way it is.

One man may call a normal sex life: "twice a week with the wife, missionary & doggie, with a little oral" Another man may require industrial lubricants, hydraulic equipment and a county building permit. I've been married almost 25 years and we have sex far less now than when we were younger, but I know married couples our age that still have sex several times a week, so it varies. I think the big thing is just whatever works for the couple. For us now it's more a special event than something we do regularly. It's not sex just for sex but to let each other know we still love each other. The couples that we know that have sex every week like clockwork it seems more like it's just their routine.
