Title: Kobe's Reacts to Losing to the Heat
Post by: Jim Gray on March 11, 2011, 10:49:51 pm
Phil Jackson isn't the only one playing mind games with the Heat.  I've never liked Kobe or the Lakers, but you have to respect the man.  Even if this is just to grab some attention, I'm impressed with his desire to win.

Maybe I'm just a cynical prick (it's likely, actually), but this comes off to me as Kobe trying to put more pressure on the HEAT, rather than his desire to practice on another team's court.  After Lebron loses, there's excuses and crying.  After Kobe loses, it's practice to get better.

That's what the story will be.  You're going to hear "That's why Kobe has rings."

You said it:  It's mind games.

It's definitely some mind games, but it's also because Kobe is kinda insane too. He is super competitive and does not take to losing lightly. Remember his trade demands from a few years back when LA wasn't doing too well.

Also, Kobe has rings because he has been surrounded by another star and complimentary talent. He is an all-time great player, but he didn't win anything without Shaq or Gasol, just as Shaq didn't win anything without Wade and the refs hatred of Mark Cuban  >:D

You can say this about almost every single NBA Championship team!!!!!
