I have a season-high 4-game streak on right now, but the standings don't show it.  You can make picks several days in advance so there's no need to log in every day.

Also, I recommend you set your "incase I forget" guy incase you forget to make a pick, it will default to him.

This is almost as frustrating as Streak for the cash,but fun! :D

My streak got busted yesterday because I had Ryan Braun and of course he doesn't start but he pinch hits in the 9th and goes 0-1. That kinda pissed me off if they don't start it shouldn't count, but whatever it's not like it was a huge streak by any means!!!!

^^ If he didn't play it wouldn't have counted. but the fact that he pinch it, it counts.

I can't seem to get more than 2 or 3 in a row.  How the hell do you get 56?

I got Bit by Braun also AZ.....I found out he was out, about midway through the Cubs game...Then saw I lost... :'(

I don't think I'd be much help in a group...I can't get past 3....I like the idea of taking a player that's playing divisional teams,if they have a good record against a pitcher they face a lot.I feel the chances are higher that they can at least get 1 hit....I guess that works both ways though too...

I have a very particular strategy when it comes to picking guys.  Its not rocket science, and definitely not fool-proof.  It requires about 5 minutes of research each day.

I'll give it a shot...what the hell.

First bat for me in this game...going with Jacoby Ellsbury today. Hopefully it will be the start to a monstrously long 57 game streak. ;D

I'm taking AZ's boy Ryan Braun tonight.  Let's hope I have better luck.

It's funny...when I made my pick for Jacoby Ellsbury, I used a specific method where I sorted all MLB hitters by how many hits they've had in the last 7 days, then overlaid the batter-vs-pitcher history, and picked a hitter (Jacoby) who was currently hot and has a great record vs that pitcher (Guthrie). When I made that pick for the game, I noticed that Jacoby had the little oval icon next to his name, calling him the "MLB.com pick of the day." When I made my pick for tomorrow using the same method a few minutes ago, lining up Hanley Ramirez against Harang, sure enough...that is also the MLB.com pick of the day. So, at the very least, I guess I've figured out how they come up with their pick o' the day already. ;D

I picked Nick Markakis today, because Andrew Miller's 0.303 BAA and Nick's 2nd-best-on-the-team BA.

So far he's 0 for 4.  Andrew Miller gave up 2 hits in 5 2/3 innings. :(

I had Adrian today as well....I will take the 4-5 and keep my streak alive into tomorrow.

I usually pick my guess based on their success in recent times against their pitching foes. I spend very little time on it because I hate overthinking something that will most likely come down to luck anyways. I have picked a few of their picks of the day but not by using their list....just by well luck I guess.



I do not believe this to be the case. I tried this once before and it would only allow me 1 pick for the day even though it was an early game and was complete before 6 other games had started!!!!!

uh-oh...Travis Snider is 0 for 3 after 7 innings, and with Toronto holding a lead, it looks like he may not get another AB in this one. Doubly bummed, as I have Snider on more than a couple of fantasy squads as well.

On the streak...I have Carlos Lee lined up for tomorrow. He has tons of ABs against Zambrano, and a pretty steady history against him. Hopefully he can squeak me out a hit to get a new streak started.

Peralta was solid yeserday with 3 hits to match my longest streak to date @ 4. Today's choice is Michael Young come one #5!!!!!!

My best ever was 11 in a row but most of it was bullshit luck picking soccer and shit I know nothing about lol!!!!!

11 is my all-time best as well...and it is the only time I've cracked double digits in that game.

Did you have any BS guesses in that streak like me or were your picks more stable for a lack of a better term?

I have thought about taking that approach a few times as well but then I get bored and want to guess at 3 different games in one day.......fail!!!!!!  ;)

I have the same problem with the soccer picks. I don't know didly squat about soccer nor do I care too as there are umpteenthousand teams from places I did not even know existed. Too hard to track yet I still find myself having to pick soccer matches when it gets to mid month and I need a couple of wins a day to try and catch the leaders.

I'll definitely avoid using players involved in doubleheaders...but not sure what that has to do with Ryan Zimmerman. The Nats-Cubs aren't showing as having a doubleheader today.

Yeah, the Monday game got rescheduled for today, but it was because both teams would have been off today. No double-dip action, thank goodness.

In the other streak game, I've amazingly hit on back to back soccer picks today (Saints be praised!). Going with 2 more soccer picks to wrap up the day...may as well stay on the ball.

I picked a soccer game this morning because my 4 streak got busted yesterday and I walked away with the victory, just to turn around and lose it on another baseball bet. I would not be able to pick 4 soccer games in one day however so props to you if you can go 4 for 4. I would not have been able to get 2 right lol.

Personally my goals,playing streak for the cash....Most wins per month,(and still have a good winning percentage) With the longest streak....I seem to do ok with wins the past couple of months,and done ok with the winning percentage,but just can't get a very long streak...

I also tend to hit a little spiral near the end of each month...Win one, Lose one,Win one,Lose 2,Win one Lose 3,Win one, Lose 4...Type of spiral...

Streaky side story... If you look on the overall leaderboard for this game today, you'd note that the longest current streak is 37. The next highest is 34, and it slowly works its way down the list. If you get to the #8 spot, there is a sight to behold. Pretty much all of the people on the leaderboard have dominant A-list hitters as their selection today. Guys like Adrian Gonzalez, Ryan Braun, Zimmerman, Pablo Sandoval, etc... All except for #8, that is. #8 is an entry named "finelin33," who currently has an amazing streak of 27 going. Today, finelin33 is risking that amazing streak on...

Xavier Nady

That's right, Xavier effin' Nady.

So I ask you...can you imagine having a 27 streak going and clicking the select button for Xavier Nady? I have a vivid imagination, and I cannot fathom having a 27 streak and thinking "Yep, Xavier Nady...now THAT's my guy!"

I find myself wondering whether we're witnessing a man who has balls the size of Winnebagos, and antifreeze running through his veins...or a man with a vast swirling emptiness where his brain ought to be.

When you consider that:

* Nady is hitting .248 this year as a part-time player, and
* 3 of his last 5 games have been one at-bat pinch hit appearances, and
* He's facing a pitcher (Worley) that he's never seen before...

...I might lean toward the vast emptiness theory.

One thing for sure - For the first time since he played for my Padres in 2006, I'll definitely be cheering for Xavier Nady tonight.  ;D

Isn't he on the DL with a broken hand now? I thought that to be the case and I thought he had been on there for at least a week or so if memory serves me correctly.

What is this "default" you're referring to? The default setting is "no player." If you didn't specifically click on Adrian Gonzalez for each of the three days, then he wasn't active.

Your jump pick only works to a streak of 3,if you have a streak Larger than 3,or don't make a pick your streak ends....

I find it funny that it says I did not make a selection on Thursday when I know for a fact that I did. It did not hurt me becuase I was already at 0 but if I had built up a decent streak and it did that I would be livid. Either way I am currently sitting on a 3 gamer in BTS and 5 on ESPN SFTC!!!!!

So I should have a 3 game streak today, when I went to make my pick.  Did the Sox have a doubleheader yesterday?

Well, my mobile nakedness abounds, as I have streaks going in both games. Ryan Braun will try to get my MLB streak up to 5, while the Russian hoops team needs a 15+ point win to get my ESPN streak up to 9. I sure would love to get the blue star there this evening...I've only had one blue star ever in this game.

Well the college stuff is out, the closest thing to following college football is following where Dorial Greene-Beckham decides to play,then following him (I pray he doesn't go to Nick Saban and Alabama)...I still want to see him play this year,since he plays here in town,he's right down the road....The problem has been last weeks game was on ESPNU and in Joplin, his next game is at the University of Arkansas...Sorry started to ramble on there.... :D

Oddly,I picked my MLB Beat the streak pick a couple of days ago,and have been losing confidence each passing day....He's had atleast a hit going back to August 23,today Micheal Morse will go 0fer :D

The MLB beat the streak is winding down...Brian seems to have the best streak going,and probably the best chance of catching AZ with  only a couple of weeks left in the regular season (I'm assuming it's not going into the playoffs)

Streak for the cash,has been a little bit of a bitch for everyone this month...No red stars in our TDMMC group....I've gotten to 4 (twice now),but had no conviction in the pick for 5....come on D-backs....

Yeah I had another 9 gamer in BTS but lost that over the weekend. In ESPN SFC I had a nice 8 game.....losing streak I was happy to break finally on Sunday. I am hoping for the Red Star tonight and I am pulling for the Angles to get the victory with Weaver on the mound.

You and I are both going for our red stars tonight, B...but only one of us can get it. I went with Kershaw and the Dodgers against the snakes. My healthy man-love for Mr. Kershaw is still going strong. ;-)

I've been having a rough month is Streak but I have managed to piece together a nice little run in BTS.  I wonder if it keeps up....

Got my MLB streak up to 7... If you took out the three days recently where I totally spaced out making a pick, I'd have a 13-streak going. Ifs and buts, beer and nuts...party time.

Congrats to Stroke on his dozen wins in a row with beat the streak, makes for an interesting final 3 games to see if he can tie AZ,for the longest winning streak with 15....

When Philly sat Pence the other night, I swore at my TV, since I knew that meant the best I could end up with was a tie with AZ at 15 for the longest streak. ;D

And Stroke's Amazingly magnificent streak continues into the final day of the season.....I have to admit,I'm most impressed by Strokes current streak,with call ups,and resting players for the playoffs....I think it's a quite a feat....
