Title: Veteran Running Backs
Post by: tubba marxxx on July 27, 2011, 01:09:08 pm
Scott Hansen reported from Davie, FL..Miami's narrowed down to Ahmad Bradshaw, DeAngelo Williams, Willis McGahee, and Marion Barber and their top choices to fill the void at RB

Please not Marion Barber.  Having been stuck in Dallas for the past 4 years, I've seen enough of his dumb ass running for 3 yard carries and jumping and celebrating like he just took one 75 yards to the house.

Williams is 28 and coming off an injury... Didn't play the second half of the season and didn't perform well the first half.

Too big a risk.

The only one of those I'd want to throw money at is Bradshaw.

@AdamSchefter Adam Schefter via Twitter
Carolina and RB DeAngelo Williams reached agreement on a five-year, $43 million deal that includes $21 million in guaranteed money.

I'll take Ronnie and/or Ricky over Marion Barber.

Subtle note within this story about Marion Barber:

I hope they find a way to retain Ronnie.  That way I can still wear my number 23 jersey on Sundays for another year.   ;D

I see a lot of guys coming to term with their old team. I got a feeling that nothing will be done in the RB department until they find out if they can get Orton. After that happens or falls through, if no one has signed Ronnie yet, I would expect them to try to resign him.

Why the lack of love for Bradshaw? He's a top-flight running back in my book and at only 25, he's got a lot more gas in the tank than most. He also doesn't have a sordid injury history.

Bradshaw is the best FA available now.
Plus i wouldn't mind him in teal and white... especially when they play the giants this year...
