Title: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: RhodeIslandPhinFan on July 29, 2011, 03:08:13 pm Matt Moore.....seriously?
Let's hope Henne can cut the mistakes in half, the o-line gels and the defense continues to improve under Nolan. Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Pappy13 on July 29, 2011, 03:17:01 pm I understand that's he great in the wildcat. >:D

Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: RhodeIslandPhinFan on July 29, 2011, 03:25:29 pm Matt freakin' Moore? Bring back Cleo Lemon or Thigpen, same shit. A body taking up space on the 53-man roster. I'd rather see them roll with Dan Carpenter as the backup QB to free up a spot for someone that could make some kind of difference.

Right, that makes PERFECT sense. A kicker playing QB. Good idea there. ::) Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: bsfins on July 29, 2011, 05:21:27 pm The idiotic notion both a Coach/GM on the Hotseat, throwing games to get the number one draft pick,They'll be out of a job,and never get the chance to draft the kid...
Wow,that's sacrifice... ??? Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: MikeO on July 29, 2011, 05:22:41 pm The people throwing the season (Sparano/Ireland) won't be here for Luck. SO that makes little sense.
Plus the Redskins with Beck/Grossman are far ahead of us in throwing the whole season. Shannahan probably convinced Snyder its the best thing to do Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Wow,that's sacrifice... ??? I like it, i would rather have Andrew Luck than the Trifecta... i mean the Bifecta Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Sunstroke on July 29, 2011, 05:44:25 pm Miami has the same chance of drafting Andrew Luck next year as it does in trading for Aaron Rodgers next year. None whatsoever... Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Sunstroke on October 10, 2011, 08:42:43 pm If Miami ends up with Luck, I'll proclaim you the biggest psychic in Rhode Island. Hell, you'll be bigger than Rhode Island...you might have to move to Maine or something. Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: MikeO on October 10, 2011, 09:37:39 pm I don't know how signing a guy who wasn't scheduled to play is "throwing the season." If they signed Moore and named him the starter Week 1 you had a point and would have called it. But since they people you proclaiming are "throwing the season" didn't play Moore and couldn't have predicted Henne's injury.........you haven't predicted anything.
Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Spider-Dan on October 11, 2011, 03:32:30 am Henne has yet to play a full slate of games. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect that his backup would play.
Combine this with David Garrard's statement that Miami was hedging their bets on Henne before the season (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7075859/david-garrard-bristles-dolphins-wants-chance) and you can see that Miami's brass a) was not entirely committed to Henne for this season, win or lose, and b) made no substantial effort to acquire a quality backup in case Henne was injured or benched. That's not too far removed from tanking it, although I can't imagine why the GM/coach would go along with such a plan; if MIA ends up with the #1 pick, they will both be out on their asses. Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: MikeO on October 11, 2011, 06:18:27 am Garrard was cut 5 days before the 1st game of the year. At that late stage in the game how is Miami hedging their bet at that point by talking to him? They were already "ALL IN" on Henne by then.
This logic that the Dolphins were tanking it BEFORE the season makes zero sense! None whatsoever. The people "tanking" will all be fired. So what motive is there for them to tank anything? Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Spider-Dan on October 11, 2011, 11:31:48 am Garrard was cut 5 days before the 1st game of the year. At that late stage in the game how is Miami hedging their bet at that point by talking to him? They were already "ALL IN" on Henne by then. Because the Miami brass told Garrard, "We want to give our guy (Henne) a chance, see how he performs and if we don't like way it goes, we'll make a move."Title: Re: Fins throwing season for Andrew Luck? Post by: Landshark on October 11, 2011, 01:53:16 pm Here's some thoughts shared among me and some pals. At the end of last season Miami was "searching" for the new up and coming coach? We all thought Miami was making a play for Harbaugh. Turns out we were also checking to see if Luck was going to wait and enter the draft the following year. This year to be exact. During that interview, Harbaugh told Ireland all he needed to know. Ireland ran with it, right back to Ross. Ireland told Ross that Henne wasn't the answer at QB and how Parcells made the decision to draft him and Pat White. I reland told Ross the best option to get the answer at QB was to keep the moronic Sparano as head coach for one more year with Henne at the helm. It was a certain guarantee of absolute failure. It's also the reason we didn't sign any of the second tier QB's. We didn't want to win games this year. Pure genius.
