Use W-L format .. keep it simple if you want to explain why your predictions are made go right ahead. I'll start us out. 16-0 explanation: we are the best team in the history of the universe and i'm a total homer Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: fyo on July 31, 2011, 04:09:59 pm I need to see some preseason games... I'd say 8-9 games right now.
Can we wait until preseason or is this "contest" a pre-preseason thing? ;) Modified to add: Since we're apparently doing "final" guesses at this early (pre-preseason games) stage: 9-7 Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: masterfins on July 31, 2011, 04:13:22 pm 11-5, win the division, lose 1st playoff game by 3 pts.
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: tepop84 on July 31, 2011, 04:22:41 pm 7-9 2-4 in the division
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: StL FinFan on July 31, 2011, 04:42:15 pm 9-7 since I'm always wrong and I can't add either
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Thundergod on July 31, 2011, 05:23:13 pm 6-10
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Sunstroke on July 31, 2011, 05:25:03 pm I see a 7-9 season coming...though an improved Henne could bump that up a game or two. I'll go with the 7 wins though, just because I'm really losing faith in Henne. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: sampras66 on July 31, 2011, 07:34:19 pm 6-12 first team in N.F.L. history to loose more games then on schedule.everbody's fired.Shula is back as a consultant. (I wish)
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Tenshot13 on July 31, 2011, 10:36:18 pm 12-4
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Pappy13 on July 31, 2011, 11:56:42 pm 8-8 Too many changes to expect them to do better than this.
Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: mecadonzilla on August 01, 2011, 12:20:33 am Unless Henne is replaced, 7-9 is the best one can hope for.
And for a team with Henne as the starter, 7-9 is a DAMN good record. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: MikeO on August 01, 2011, 07:54:34 am Its 2010 all over again, little to nothing has changed on a bad offense.
Same QB as last year Same WR's as last year Same TE as last year Added a rookie in Pouncy, but Jon Jerry is a bust since he can't crack the starting lineup in practice so we got the same bad guards as last year and we are talking to old man Shaun O'Hara. Oh we have new RB's, seems to be Ireland's cure to fix the offense But for the most part nothing has changed talent wise on a bad offense!! 7-9 at best. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: fyo on August 01, 2011, 08:30:34 am Its 2010 all over again, little to nothing has changed on a bad offense. Same QB as last year Same WR's as last year Same TE as last year I'm hopeful that we'll see Henne take a step forward. Even if he only improves marginally, improved playcalling and a league average number of "dropped interceptions" would SERIOUSLY impact the offense. I'm not going to discuss Henne (no, really, I mean it this time), but playcalling, especially the predictability of it, was a serious weakness last year. Our wide receivers need to stop dropping passes... This was mainly (not exclusively) a problem early on, so I find it likely that our receivers will improve. As for tight ends, Fasano may not be a big deep threat (yet he gained significantly more yards per catch than "deep threat" Zach Miller), but unlike those deep threats, he's a solid blocker, which fits better in our scheme and, should we decide to actually open things up a bit, he'd be a constant threat to run a route instead of blocking (whereas Gates, Gonzales, or Clark aren't going to fool anyone). I do agree with your assessment of our o-line, however. It often looked really bad last year and was certainly a contributing factor to our poor running game. A speedster like Reggie Bush could be just what the o-line ordered, though. Still, one area where the line was PATHETIC was horizontal blocks/moves. Anything straight on was usually solid, but when the o-line (or tight ends) was asked to move their asses sideways even just a step in order to block, everything went to hell. To really get full use of Reggie, the line (and tight ends) need to be able to seal the edge. Part of that is coaching, though, and I certainly wasn't impressed with Dave DeGuglielmo (now entering his third season as OL coach) developing the line over the course of the season. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Matrix7637 on August 01, 2011, 05:28:00 pm 7-9 Boys and Girls.
Not much has changed from last season. >:( Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: dolfan13 on August 02, 2011, 11:41:07 am im starting to narrow in on 7-9.
really was trying to have some optimism around henne getting better, but he is looking real bad in camp so far. how henne goes, goes this team. defense alone can get this team 7 wins. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on August 02, 2011, 02:50:45 pm 10-6.
We're not as bad as most people make us out to be but we won't put up enough points to compete for or in the post-season. Title: Re: Season Predictions Post by: EKnight on August 03, 2011, 10:41:19 am 10-6. We were SO close to 11-5 last year (Pitt was a joke loss, and we gave away the Det, Cleve, and Buff games). Against a harder schedule, but with a better defense, and the addition of Bush and Thomas (YES, I really believe D. Thom will go for 1000 and 8-10 TD's) I say we get 10 wins, but lose in the wildcard round. -EK
