This is as annoying as Favre to me. The article says Ireland & Sparano contacted him about coming to Miami. Why not just keep the guy last year then? Why play this go away a year and come back a year yo-yo game?

I wonder how much he has left in the tank at this point !!!

I don't understand the philosophy of this organization.

If Ricky / Ronnie are "long gone" now because they are old and slow...what is Jason Taylor doing back with this team?

This team is going to be a complete train wreck in 2011.

I love JT but this is ridiculous.

He is hardly the first player to leave a team and then return.  Moss and Branch off the top of my head.

One word - Parcells. Parcells never liked the guy if you ask me. Now that he's gone, Taylor is welcomed back.

That was two in a single week.  And off the top of my head.  Here is another Ricky Williams twice returned to the Dolphins....granted he didn't play for another NFL team in between but one time he played in the CFL.

Only because he was serving a year's suspension in the NFL. That really doesn't count as leaving a team. He was still under contract.

Like it was brought up, I don't know anyone off the top of my head going to a team three times.

I'm fine with JT coming back to Miami, but I don't think he's got much left in the tank.

Maybe he's just going to re-sign just so he can retire a Dolphin.  lol ;D

For all we know, Ireland might have wanted JT back last year.  It's just that they were unwilling to commit before the draft (something that necessarily happened again this year, due to the lockout).

As a #3 or #4 OLB, JT is still perfectly serviceable.  His 5 sacks last year were better than anyone on the Dolphins not named Cameron Wake.

The NFL is a business. 

Dolphins fired him and he got a job with the Jets.  Jets fired him and the Dolphins rehired him.  It ain't personal. 

This signing makes it clear that it was Parcells who didn't want JT here last year. Cause Ireland and Sparano clearly by bringing him back must not have had issues with him

15 snaps a game, vet leadership, good move. Not excited over it but not upset either

I wonder what the details of his contract are?  If it's a small contract, they could cut him at the end of camp.

He's still a traitor in my book, but as soon as he gets his first big play, I'll probably be cheering for him again...I'm such a flip flopper lol.

Exactly. Making this team isn't going to be a cake-walk for JT. We got some LB's who can play

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'm glad JT is back and hope he will finish his career as a Dolphin.  I know he's not the player he was, but I hope he can still have a positive impact on the team.  Even at the vet minimum, his contract will be more than pocket change, so I guess there's a real chance he won't make the team.

I'm rooting for him.

I like Taylor...glad to see him back in Miami to finish out the career.

I love JT, but I'm not sure why he's back.  Since he's not an every down player I'm sure he can handle the work load, but why use a roster spot on a guy that's on the downside instead of a guy on the upside of a career?  I doubt he's going to be tearing it up on special teams like other part-time players.  Seems like a move in the wrong direction.

^^ Because he can still rush the passer better than anyone else on the roster other than Wake and they looking to put someone on the other side from Wake to take some of the pressure off Wake and make him even more effective. Besides they paid him a pittance because Taylor wants to be here. It's the perfect scenario.

He, and Matt Moore, are here for depth.  He's a borderline starter that is a good backup.

^^^ not so fast... kelly is reporting that at this point, from what he has seen, he would not be surprised if matt freaking moore beats henne in training camp.

he's not saying that moore is anything great, just that so far henne as been really really bad.

its only been 4 days of practice so you can't go crazy. But every report from almost all the reporters is nothing has changed with Henne. Same mistakes as years past. And that isn't playcalling or anything, just bad throws

What does this have to do with Jason Taylor?  Please try to keep the Henne-hate to Henne-related threads.

it's not henne hate either. simply trying to convey that moore, whom you brought up, was not brought in solely for depth.

I'm glad he's back for the simple reason that he can retire as a Miami Dolphin.

Looking on the bright side,I was worried I only have 1 current player jersey this year...B. Marshall..Thankfully I didn't burn my Taylor jersey's with my Ryan Theriot,and Derrick Lee jersey's :D ;)

I'm good with it. Will he contribute on the field in a meaningful way? Maybe. Will he improve Wake and Misi as pass rushers? I think so. He's worth it for that alone. I'm expecting BIG things from our D this year. Top 3 overall kind of big things.
