Title: What QB do you want? Post by: Tenshot13 on August 03, 2011, 01:19:29 pm Lets just say we are getting another QB not named Orton and you have to pick one. Who do you want? I think a trade for Dennis Dixon would be interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing him compete with Henne for a starting role. Matt Flynn wouldn't be too bad either. As long as the price is right, I'd take either of them.
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Brian Fein on August 03, 2011, 02:00:09 pm Are we talking only people who are available? I could say "I want Peyton Manning" but I suspect that's not for this conversation.
I would like to see them go get Carson Palmer, but I know he's not going anywhere soon. Otherwise, I don't have an answer, as everyone seems to have been scooped up. I am interested to see what fodder hits the employment line starting tomorrow. I'm sure there will be interesting names on that list. Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Phishfan on August 03, 2011, 02:34:55 pm Aaron Rodgers
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: mecadonzilla on August 03, 2011, 03:09:26 pm Just because of the Dallas to Miami Pipeline, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tony Romo doing a Dolphin stint at some point . I wouldn't mind that all.
I have no idea how that would happen, but just saying... Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Pappy13 on August 03, 2011, 03:14:37 pm There aren't any beside Orton that I want and are available. There may be one or 2 that might be better than Henne, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. I think QB in the NFL is one of the toughest positions to play in any sport and there are maybe a half dozen or so every year that are franchise type QB's and make those around them look better. All the rest are just doing the best they can and are limited by what they have around them. Henne falls into that group.
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Dave Gray on August 03, 2011, 03:19:04 pm I am drinking the Orton Kool-Aid, as well. I think I'm buying undeserved hype.
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: tubba marxxx on August 03, 2011, 03:37:33 pm Does it really matter?..he'll get run out of Miami because his jersey doesn't say "Marino" on the back
like Sparano, it makes me sick Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: yuppi on August 03, 2011, 03:39:20 pm I hope we don't trade anything higher then a fourth for orton and I'm still uneasy about that because we might need a 2nd and 4th rounder to trade up for Trent Richardson as well.
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Sunstroke on August 03, 2011, 03:45:56 pm I'd welcome a trade for Ryan Mallett... Title: Re: What QB do you want? We aren't going to trade anything for Orton. That deal is as dead as Elvis (I heard that somewhere, but can't remember where). Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Thundergod on August 03, 2011, 04:04:19 pm Now that the Orton ship has sailed, it really doesn't matter anymore. Hell, I'll take Marc Bulger, just to have a vet QB on the team.

Post by: tubba marxxx on August 03, 2011, 10:31:23 pm ^^ if Favre has taught us anything, it's that retirement doesn't matter
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Tenshot13 on August 03, 2011, 11:27:36 pm Maybe I should have been more clear...You have to pick a QB that is obtainable. I too would love to have Manning or Rodgers, but that's not going to happen.
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: bsfins on August 03, 2011, 11:57:12 pm I guess this isn't who I want, but who's left in Free agency...I'm not sure I really want to trade a pick for someone right now...
Kerry Collins (yeah I know he's retired),or (even though I feel he's far from an upgrade, and made very fine glass) Brody Croyle....They're both listed as free agents,on NFL.comm's free agent tracker.. I'm hoping, that Brian Daboll being our Offensive coordinator scares us off of Jake Delhomme...I say,I say...there is somethin not right between his ears.... :D (I was quite happy to see Derek Anderson sign with the Panthers) Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: tubba marxxx on August 04, 2011, 11:24:36 am Chad Henne
Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: mecadonzilla on August 04, 2011, 03:56:29 pm Since we already know Henne is one of the worst QBs in the league, I'm willing to try almost anybody else. Which means, I'd rather have Favre, Delhomme, a retired Bulger, Whistler's Mother, anyone.
Palmer would be a pipe dream, but he may be unattainable because of the Bengals' owner's stupidity. Title: Re: What QB do you want? Post by: Spider-Dan on August 04, 2011, 07:48:49 pm I'm going to try some consistency.
I said I didn't want to give up picks for a replacement QB, and I meant it. There is no good QB on the market; if someone had suggested trading picks for Kyle Orton (the warm body in the Jay Cutler deal) two years ago, I would have fallen down laughing. Kyle Orton may be better than Henne, but he's not good. He's another Jay Fiedler, but without the winning (check his record). So a trade for him will, at best, accomplish a one-and-done playoff run, along with a crappy pick next year. No thanks. I'm tired of the back-and-forth. The Trifecta chose Henne; they have surrounded him with their pieces. Fine. Either Henne wins this year, or he and the front office are out on their asses and we get Cowher, along with a good pick. Sadly, Jay Fiedler was a much better quarterback than Henne. It's looks like he'll be given another chance so maybe he could prove me wrong. But I don't think he will. |
