Title: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: CF DolFan on September 12, 2011, 08:18:16 am http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/306031-dolphins-player-have-complained-about-sparanos-yelling
From Sports Illustrated Truth and Rumors Several Dolphins players have complained over the years about Tony Sparano's hollering. But Sparano said Saturday, "They know if I'm going to say something to them it's going to be the truth. Sometimes you say things you shouldn't say." Of his demonstrative reactions caught on camera, he said, "I'm not really for everybody. But I think I'm for this team." Miami Herald Am I the only one sensing that the average NFL player is turning into a bunch of whiny arse kitty-cats? No two a days and now no yelling? Give me break!! When you're 7-9 and 7-9 (1-7 at home) in the last two seasons, you can't get away with it. It's just how it works. When you're 7-9 and 7-9 (1-7 at home) in the last two seasons, you can't get away with it. It's just how it works. And that is why if the Dolphins have another season like the last two, Sparano is out the door, with Ireland not too far behind him. They'll bring in Bill Cowher and give him complete control. That's my prediction. It's scary that humans can evolve beyond dragging their mates by the hair into their caves. :) Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: Phishfan on September 12, 2011, 12:31:09 pm I evolution means the human race is destined to become a group of entitled, over priveledged snobs who complain about every little thing not going there way, then shoot me before it gets any worse.

Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 12, 2011, 12:43:34 pm Evolution = pussification? If you say so. If fact yes. Air conditioning, heating, transportation that doesn't involve walking, cooked food, not needing to kill your dinner yourself. All pussification. Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: CF DolFan on September 12, 2011, 12:49:01 pm I disagree. Those are modern comforts brought on by technological advances and as 911 showed us, we will give them all up when threatened. Instant replay is a technological advancement but being a football prima donna is not even close.
Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: tepop84 on September 12, 2011, 12:51:28 pm I think the team realizes that he has no clue what the fuck he is talking about. They really don't care to be yelled at by an idiot.

I dunno about you, but I did not give up cooked food, central heating or high speed travel b/c of 9-11. I did give up being able to carry a full size tube of toothpaste on to an airplane. They really don't care to be yelled at by an idiot. That might have something to do about it. How you yell at them also matters. It is one thing to yell, "You need to secure the ball before you turn up field; yards after the catch are meaningless if you don't catch the goddamn fucking ball." It is a different thing to yell, "Hey fuckhead catch the ball. Catch the fucking ball than turn run up the field. How fucking difficult is that." Without ever providing any coaching or advice that the receiver's problem is he is turning up the field too quickly. Granted it is pure speculation that the coach is doing the latter and not the former, but in general most people will be more receptive to being told what they are doing wrong and how to fix it than just being at the end of a rant with nothing tangible to help them improve. How you yell at them also matters. Sorry to inform you but take the cussing out and many bosses talk like that in the blue collar world and you know what? Most people don't whine about it to their union stewards. Seriously it isn't a big deal even with the cussing in a sports environment. Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: Pappy13 on September 12, 2011, 04:29:25 pm It is one thing to yell, "You need to secure the ball before you turn up field; yards after the catch are meaningless if you don't catch the goddamn fucking ball." I went to a Catholic school (with nuns and everything) and I don't see the difference between the first and 2nd yells. I understood the meaning of both equally well and if I had just dropped a pass, I would understand why I was being yelled at too. I tend to agree that some players have gotten soft in Miami and other places. I think this kinda thing happens all the time at Jets practices and not so much at Dallas Cowboys practices and when things are on the line the Cowboys fold like a cheap tent and the Jets don't. Where I came from it was called accountability and you didn't duck your head when you messed up, you stood tall and took the blame and worked on getting it right. It is a different thing to yell, "Hey fuckhead catch the ball. Catch the fucking ball than turn run up the field. How fucking difficult is that." Without ever providing any coaching or advice that the receiver's problem is he is turning up the field too quickly. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Most people don't whine about it to their union stewards. Seriously it isn't a big deal even with the cussing in a sports environment. Did the Dolphin players actually file a complaint with the union or just a randomly gripe that the boss was an a-hole when someone asked them what they thought of him. I have never worked anywhere (white color or blue color) where employees didn't gripe about the boss. Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: MikeO on September 12, 2011, 05:42:27 pm to me it proves the front office is bringing in the WRONG type of players.
Can't take a little yelling...please! Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: Spider-Dan on September 12, 2011, 06:31:32 pm Clearly, the front office needs to bring in players more like those of the Pittsburgh Steelers; the epitome of classy professional athletes.
The only reason why anyone cares about any of this stuff is because Miami has been losing. Analyze the rest all you want. Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: masterfins on September 13, 2011, 02:48:11 pm I hope the defense picks up some ear plugs before heading to practice this week or they might go deaf from the well deserved screaming.
Title: Re: Dolphins players have complained about Sparano's yelling Post by: masterfins on September 13, 2011, 02:49:43 pm I'd rather have a coach screaming, than have Wanny's hokey hanging lobster traps from the ceiling in the locker room.
